In cases like these, would the estate file a home owners insurance claim to handle cleaning, replacing flooring, painting, etc? I'm sure it's big, expensive job that requires a specialized crew and equipment.

Any damage done and clean up needed should be covered by the Giampas. IMO

Good luck with that.

They should pay closing costs too. Horrible people.

Pp: I hadn’t talked to my agent yet when I saw the listing. I *know* she would have warned me — I’ve known her most of my life.

Before they get locked up for negligence.

That would be awesome, but we’d better not all hold our breath.

#1 She absolutely did know her son’s Nazi views. She posted them herself on her social media account. And it was the reason for the break up. And she had been warned by school administration. She just chose to believe everyone else was crazy.
#2 He was court ordered to stay off the Internet. This leads me to believe his arrest in 2016 had to do with the internet. She knew that. I also believe she knew he was continuing to use the internet and if she didn’t she wasn’t watching him and she certainly allowed him to have a phone with access to the internet.
#3 I don’t buy that she hid her keys. It’s a good 30-40 min drive from Lorton to Reston so he spent no time finding the keys.
#4 I don’t buy it was too late in the day to get him help. She could have taken him any ER or called 911. Honestly she had from September when school administration warned her of trouble to seek help and have him committed.
#5 She left a gun and ammo unsecured in her home with a kid she knew had mental and behavioral issues for years! And according to her social media posts thought it was a great idea to teach him how to use them.
So yes ma’am you are very much to blame for these 2 murders. It very much is on you and I hope you pay the price for it.

I agree there was a lot of BS and mom had some major denial, but wanted to correct some things. I recall reading he did not have his own phone and would steal or borrow his sister's. Mom and dad do not live in the same home. She has done stupid things and is clearly in love with the right to bear arms as per FB, but she is not the one who left the gun out. She absolutely could have taken him to an ER.

I find it strangely interesting she made money selling organic wheat grass. Most of her customers likely had no clue they were supporting a woman who is obsessed with keeping up statues of confederate generals, didn't take her son's mental health issues seriously enough and who seemed to have antisemetic and racist undertones (though as per FB she seemed to have an in-law who was not Caucasian with whom she seemed close).

Wait, if she isn't the one who provided him with the firearm then who did? All the accounts I read said he was at his mom's house when he left for the Fricker's place. Are you suggesting he already had the gun (and knife, hammer, rope, etc.) and obtained it somewhere other than his mother's house? If so can you point to a source?

I agree. She stated he was in her home and took the unsecured gun from the home. She also stated she was up with him talking through the night and he left with her keys when she drifted to sleep. Are you saying he left and then went to his dad’s home to retrieve the weapon? I didn’t read her article that way. And I don’t think with the 30-40 min drive to Reston he would have had the time to find the keys and sneak in his dad’s home to retrieve the weapon then wait in his girlfriend’s room before the murders were comitted.
Also, if he didn’t have a phone then how did the girlfriends mother call him to tell him to stop seeing her as his mother stated she did?

We know now that he went to Reston with the intent to kill the parents. It wasn't a momentary reaction to them intruding on him. He premeditated the killing while he drove from Lorton to Reston. And tge school knew that both kids were co-dependent and headed for disaster. More is going to come out (or is known to police) regarding the school's role in this. They foretold this in Sept.

How do we know this? Has it been reported?

Where is the son now? Is he back home? And what are his injuries? The Post article was vague about this.

It was reported in the Washington post article by the mother. She stated the school met with her in September and told her they had a Romeo and Juliet situation and the kids were headed for disaster in any number of ways...

He is in Fairfax Detention Center. Injuries to head. Well enough to speak when he was first arrested. Well enough to be out of the hospital and at a detention center but may be incompetent to stand trial.

In the article (toward the end), it said that he told an online acquaintance what he was going to do and the online "acquaintance" said "you're going to burn in hell for that" (or something to that effect), and the killer replied that it would be worth it for him to be with the girl. He had previously told someone (maybe his mom) between the time he was told of the break up and the time that he shot them, that he was really worried about the girlfriend b/c of whatever troubles she had with her parents (the Frickers). Basically, telling his mom that he needed to be with the girl for support or to help her escape. My impression was that the girl complained to him about her parents (in a way that all teens do), but that he (killer) took it very seriously (like the parents were persecuting the girl). He mostly killed them out of his selfish desires to be with the girl, but he also had some sense of being her savior as well.
