Anonymous wrote:So what happened to the OTHER person the police said they wanted to talk to? Described as:

Police described the person of interest as a black male in his 20s or early 30s, about 5-foot-10 or 5-foot-11 with a shaved head and goatee. He weighed between 250 to 285 pounds, has a slight beer belly and was wearing black jeans and a white T-shirt.

Does this person exist?

I believe the police gave a false description so that the real person of interest wouldn't bolt. They haven't said this, just my theory.

This is what I believe as well. Anyone know if this is commonly done in law enforcement for investigative reasons? Or know of any examples where something similar was done?

PLease. They got a search warrant to search his house, meaning a judge found there was probable cause to believe that it contained evidence of a crime. This is far more than a "false description" or any ind of description. You folks need to stand down on the conspiracy theories.

Does it really make sense that this guy picks up a girl who is a total stranger, and is lost and must have told him she was lost, then after having another drink with her sends her on her way to be lost some more?

They found something in his car to tie her to the car, perhaps fingerprints. It was because of what they found in the car, whatever it was, that they were able to get a search warrant for the house. She was in the car. Meaning he drove her somewhere. And if he didn't drive her home, where did he drive her? And why didn't he come forward when everyone was clearly looking for her?

But LJ is the type of guy who spends time with his mom and grandma - apparently has warm relationships with women in his life. So he doesn't strike me as a "bad guy", Ted Bundy sort of person.

So much of what we're hearing is confusing. I suppose the facts will come out in due time.

And one more thing, he's refusing to talk to the police, they said they want to talk to him. Obviously, thats his right, he doesn't have to talk. But don't you think a guy who picks up a girl and has a drink with then innocently sends her on her way would want to help the police find her? Would tell the police where she went on her way?

Remember his side of the story is coming from relatives. And what is he going to tell his mother?

Oh. my. God. Ted Bundy had "warm relationships with women in his life." He had a girlfriend who he never abused in any way. She had no idea. He had close female friends.

No one is saying this guy is a serial killer, but just because he appears to have warm relationships with his mother and grandmother doesn't mean he didn't kill this girl. I hope you don't tell your daughter that she doesn't have to worry about men who have female friends.

I guess it depends on how he was approached with all of this. If cops showed up at my door with search warrants, I might call a lawyer ASAP and then answer questions, kwim?

Men who have warm relationships with adult women of authority (mom, grandma) do not tend to be serial killers. In fact, I can't think of ONE serial killer who hung out with their mom/grandma on any sort of a regular basis. Ted Bundy made a good impression on female acquaintances and he had a girlfriend who ignored a lot of extremely weird stuff. I'm not saying that something didn't or couldn't have happened between LJ and Hannah. But he doesn't strike me as a serial killer.

Doesn't strike you as a ad guy based on what -- random quotes from family members? It's not as if you know the guy.

He hangs out with his mom/grandma and has a steady job at the hospital. I don't know the guy, but just the little bit I've read about him seems to suggest, anyway, that he is generally perceived to be a "nice" guy.

It's always the nice guys, the quiet ones, the guy who kept to himself who commit the heinous crimes.

This isn't true. Can you provide a source for your information? It seems that he's willingly told police his story (that he bought her drinks, but she didn't get in his car), and police want to keep him in their back pocket for possible additional questioning.

Clearly you've never been to a bar in your life. There are scumbag dudes like this who frequent every single bar in America. "Person of interest" is clearly a scumbag, but not necessarily a criminal.

No, actually, I don't know what you mean. The police are searching for a girl who's been missing for days now. If you have nothing to do with her disappearance, then, sure, call a lawyer, and cooperate fully to clear your name/help move the search forward. Why wouldn't you cooperate unless you're generally an uncaring ass and/or guilty?

Where are you getting that he's refusing to talk to police? He seems to be completely cooperative. Maybe he's not telling the story that YOU want/wish to hear, but he seems to be cooperating and telling police what he knows (whether you believe him is something different, but he seems to be talking to police).
