I don't know this guy, and I have boys only, and none play for GFR, but its weird to me that parents are defending clearly unethical behavior. |
For real. I cannot imagine the drama involved in teams this guy coaches. holding private training sessions *for some select players who can afford to pay you* on the field right before the schedule team practices? so divisive, gross, and unethical. Why was he allowed to do this if it was against GFR policy? |
| I'm curious how the VRSC parents feel getting stuck with this stinking turd. This wasn't the situation they accepted when they signed up for the team. |
|
How much does he charge for his freelance training?
Maybe he wanted to switch to VRSC because they own their fields so he could have lots of free field space for his side hustles. |
Super excited to have a coach who will hold his players accountable and will try something other than kick and run!!! Awesome move CC! |
I only care about my DD and she will thrive under his approach to the game. She will be one of his favorites because she can play and will be committed to what he is trying to implement, which means that she will not need to leave the field so an unserious and/ or selfish player can get her “fair share” of playing time. I also hope his “abusive behavior” will cause some of her unserious teammates to move to a team or club more in line with their level of seriousness and commitment. I’m sure the haters will be offended by my perspective, but that’s why my DD thrives when decisions are based on merit and you whine about fairness. |
How is running a business and trying to make a living unethical behavior ? Non compete’s in today’s business world DO NOT stand a chance in court. |
Exactly and I agree 100%. Let’s go …take the teams to the next level. The complainers on here are the ones he will remove quickly. So many victims caught up on “permits, and unethical and drama and abusive”. |
He is being paid to coach the team already. Accepting cash on the side so certain kids get better treatment? HIGHLY unethical. And sounds like against his employment contract with GFR. Its not a non-compete. Its double-dipping. |
| I think all the pro-Sleazebag Coach posts are by the same person pretending to be a VRSC parent. Probably GD, lol. |
| Once again VRSC proving to be the most talked about club. They must be doing something right to get this level of attention. Keep it up. |
1. GFR permits started after 5pm. Anyone can use fields prior to it. (Play lacrosse, football) 2. Nothing was ever in secret. His business is splattered all over his car. Nothing is invite only, you have to be pro active if you want to supplement. No one was ever not included, it was a choice if you didn’t want to add to your club training. 3. Nothing was ever with select players (only those that chose to make time). Groups were max 4-5. Never needed a permit because what he did was NOT large group training. 4. If he wanted his trainings to be secret and sleazy why would he do them in front of everyone on home turf right before his own club practice. Apply logic? 5. From personal experience some not all players he trained did NOT play in games as much as others. It was not a pay to play environment. The haters aren’t interested in truth or logic. Their victimhood has given them an axe so they’re going to grind it, truth and logic be damned. You have absolutely no clue. Many coaches do private training. It’s not double-dipping. They get paid to train a team for 1-1.5 hours 3-4 times per week plus games. Practice in evenings and games on weekends. Most coach 2, maybe 3 and sometimes 4, teams. Depending on how hard you’re willing to work or how many mouths you need to feed, that leaves a lot of hours to do something else. Many coaches work at schools because the hours work well with practice schedules. The coaches with the biggest followings do extensive private training, group sessions, camps, and clinics. That is their primary job, just like teaching is many other coaches’ primary job. GD is one of dozens of coaches in the DMV who do this. Go to any highschool on a weekend (when the school’s teams aren’t using the fields) and you’ll see this in action. The fact you don’t know this demonstrates that your kids are not serious players. |

Fine to do private training.
Unethical to train select players from a team you are already being paid to coach. I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you. |
You are inserting “select” into your faux explanation, which is inaccurate and gives the appearance of impropriety. |
Its unethical to accept PAY to freelance train players on the team you are already being PAID to COACH as a TEAM. Regardless of how you choose them. |
