Will SEC escape RIFs due to large number of exits?

And traffic is going to be truly terrible.
Earlier is better.

A good question for my supervisor and not strangers on the internet.

Who actually gets to work at 7am? Honestly that is a very disruptive schedule and the best case for not allowing the day to end even earlier. it’s kind of a joke that key staff are unavailable for meetings during normal business hours.

That sounds like a great schedule for work-life balance. Instead of criticizing people for it, maybe everyone should be encouraged to do it!

Sorry, getting up at 5am because you decided you had to live in the burbs and need to drive in and avoid traffic is not my idea of work life balance. My work life balance is the shortest commute possible and no need to work strange hours.

Boy making a whole lot of assumptions there on little factual basis.

My commute is 30 mins at 5:30 am. It can be up to 2 hours at 7:30 am.

For me 6-2 is a great work like balance. Love being home at 2:30 and have always been an early riser, particularly as I age.
Everyone’s preferences are differen.
this is a very obvious statement to most people so it’s quite baffling why you would feel so strongly about someone else’s preferences.

Same here, early riser. Prefer to do an early 8-hr shift rather than a later one. My husband's agency is 10-3 core hours and even that extra hour is a bit much for me. I really don't want to stay later than 230, so glad SEC core hours are what they are.

Because you make it very hard for people (especially external stakeholders) who work normal business hours.

I care about them about as much as they care about me. Let me know when “they” start honoring the CBA (or at least standing up to those who don’t).

Who are these “external stakeholders”? It’s funny how there is so much pushback to people who find a way to make a sudden policy change and violation of their CBA still work for their lives.

Good thing you said “external stakeholders” so we know how good you are at corporate vernacular

At the end of the day you have a knowledge job and if you are unavailable to meet with people for 3/8 normal working hours, that’s a big deal. 3:30 is a PITA - 2 is really bad.

It only there were a way to allow knowledge workers to be available without being in the office. Hmmm…

If you need to meet with me, you have 5 whole hours (9-2) during YOUR shift to make it happen. If you can’t swing that, I’m also free from 6-9 — Call me when you wake up in your way to the shower or during on your awful commute.

If I’m so unimportant you can’t talk to me til 4, you’re probably better off just sending an email anyway.
