And actually the next sentence too: "It happened around 3 a.m. Friday after they responded to his home in the 9800 block of Bolton Village Court." Police responded to the home and then the shooting happened?

I'm guessing this is like Fatal Attraction scenario, where the wife was kind to him at some church function, and he latched on this idea that she loved him but her husband was keeping them apart. That would explain the 10 bullets.

I'm still somewhat side eye at the Donorsee not-a-nonprofit "charity", but that seems likely a separate issue, unless the murderer was cooking the books for the organization and realized that he may be facing jail time because of it?

So it looks like they were marred in 2018, so they dated probably 5 years ago.

The murder seems to have started a business about 4 years ago, and in fact was active with it back in April

Those are the only 2 scenarios that make any sense

You two above are just determined that this must be either "domestic" (in other words you want a "Dateline" type of spousal murder) or "targeted" (ooooh, conspiracy, secret life!).

You refuse to believe that yeah, break-ins can and do go wrong and agitated burglars can panic and pull the trigger. It's pretty ghoulish, how you both want some version of a juicy drama around this tragedy. Maybe you find it somehow comforting to insist that the victim MUST have been targeted or this was domestic, because in those cases, this was not random. Random is more frightening to the community. But I suspect you really just want this to be some kind of true crime local drama. Sick.

As for "why didn't the killer kill both of them," none of the coverage has said the wife was there next to him when he was shot. Do link if you've seen that from the cops. Speculation here or rumors on Fairfax Underground do not count.

I do, but I have low expectations for local news media and the writing quality for their online stories. WTOP is particularly bad.
