If you lived anywhere other than Fairfax City you would understand how high the odds are that the wife did this.

Wife has a public instagram. She looks very religious. What a tragic story and hope justice is served. Two young kids…

You new here? Safe? Don’t let your guard down, FFX City has been having random crimes and murders since before I was born babe..

I miss Fairfax Underground..

Um, feel free to go to fairfax underground. This is literally the "off topic" message board and there are tons of threads on true crime. And don't call me "babe", you sound dumb.

According to a friend on twitter, he was shot IN BED with his wife next to him, which is nuts if it's true. The police aren't ruling anything out and not offering much reassurance--seems hinky.

Thought she looked familiar. My kids went to half day preschool at Columbia Baptist and youngest finished in 2020 when Covid hit. This is awful but if there was a threat to the community, I wonder if the police would have alerted us by now?

Bingo. Everyone has a door camera these days. This house probably had two.

It was NOT a domestic dispute. If I'm going to hire some guy to shoot my husband (I'm not, FYI) but if I were, I certainly would not have the person do it while I and especially the kids are in the house. She is going to have to pay for years of therapy for those kids. Awful.

I'm guessing either robbery gone wrong, maybe gay lover or complete error.

You're assuming that there was a third party involved. All the police have said was the husband was shot in his own bed at 3AM and the wife was in the house.

Good point. In which case, she won't need to worry about paying for therapy for the kids at all.

DH knew him years ago. DH said he was an incredibly nice person, Christian guy, who quit his job years ago to go help teach in Africa. Looks like he helped build schools in Malawi, helped Ukraine, did a lot of amazing things and was adored by many people from all the comments and testimonies I'm seeing on social media. I regret never meeting him. I feel so sorry for his wife.

I'm not in the know about any suspects or any information. My gut feeling is guessing either someone tried to get an online donation back after the fact, like trying to get a refund from GoFundMe and being told no and then going homicidal at the CEO, or, maybe this is an international homicide case - Russians? Someone who doesn't like girls in school in their country? I'm really just brain storming here out of thin air. News report never mentioned anything stolen, and killer left wife and kids unharmed. Just killed him only. Regardless of what the motive was, it's quite tragic considering this guy did a lot of good things for the world and left behind a wife and 2 little ones. There is a fund set up to help his family:

I thought I saw somewhere the killer allegedly went out the back door.

Nope. All they said was the back door was open when the police arrived.

And I'm saying they didn't even allege and law enforcement never said a third party was involved in the first place. Stop making stuff up.

I'm not the earlier poster, but police said the back door was open when they arrived, and that an adult in the home (wife?) made the 9-1-1 call. So, you think the most logical explanation is the wife opened the back door herself, shot her own husband, then called 9-1-1? "Allegedly" includes reports from people on social media btw. People on social media, who seem to be connected to the family, are saying it was an intruder.

No, in that scenario I think the logical conclusion is they argued, struggled over a weapon, he ends up dead, she wanders around the house wondering what to do and may or may not have opened the back door in the process.

When the cops have not released a notification of a suspect, camera footage from the neighbors or the household - grainy or not, or even a description the most likely culprit is internal. Whether that's someone they knew and the cops are now watching or the spouse themselves.
