I’m black too, and against vaccines mandates for kids, but Youngkin is basically a Donald Trump puppet and will do absolutely nothing to improve the lives of African Americans in Virginia, so it’s a no for me.

I’m seeing a lot of Youngkin signs in neighborhoods close to the beltway that never would have had Trump signs in them. Interesting tide. McAuliffe may not recover from the damage caused by his own statements.

Pp here. I disagree. Trump was no saint but many blacks benefited from some of his policies. For example, he pardoned more black inmates than other presidents in recent history and he increased funding for hbcus. I wouldnt vote for a Trump-like character for president but Youngkin is running for governor. I dont want Virginia turning into New York. I want someone who respects school choice and vaccination choice. The fact is many blacks benefit from and even agree with many conservative policies. Dont get sucked into the Republicans = racist, democrats = savior mentality. Its really not all black or all white.

Listen, you can believe what we you want. No one who votes D is seriously contemplating Youngkin unless they are incredibly uninformed. Governors are responsible for much more than schools. Virginia is a nice place to live because we have had Democrats at the helm for some time. We did pretty well with the pandemic because we have good health care, and good government compared to the hellscape of red America. And let’s get this straight. Democrats didn’t try to overthrow congress and install a dictator. You did that.
