Why is Blake Lively so overrated?

But I don’t know enough about filming to know what actors expect and how much improvising and what is appropriate and inappropriate. I don’t get the sense he is harassing her but wants the scene to be a lot more intimate than she does. He doesn’t seem to read the cues that she is uncomfortable.

I can’t imagine a job with this much intimacy and trying to walk these fine lines. I guess that’s why they have the intimacy coordinators. I wonder if the IC was on set during this part checking in with them or if the script just said slow dance - maybe it didn’t seem like it would need her.

+1 this was a scene where the IC would've been vital. This was lots of miscommunication between Blake,Justin, and the other writers producers on set. Blake has issues misinterpreting situations.

I fully agree that there should have been an ic to avoid situations like this. But I don’t see sexual harassment in the raw footage and, while I understand that any number of things can make someone uncomfortable, I see no evidence of sexual harassment here. That “you smell good” comment presented out of context as proof of his creepiness really hurts her narrative of events

Part of his complaint was that they had an IC but BL refused to meet with her and JB and (presumably) the other cast members in similar roles did and it wasn't part of the contract an IC be present at all times, only that one had been consulted (which they were). Idk. I don't think it looks great to blow off a meeting with an IC and then turn around and claim sexual harassment when this is your proof. It's sort of making your boundaries a non issue and then claiming they were violated despite others on the set following agreed upon channels.

I think at bare minimum it is clear BL wass running this movie and set like her own and setting a lot of the terms.

He says she refused to I meet with the IC before production started, not at all. He asked if Lively would sit down with him and the IC before shooting anything to map out intimate scenes and Lively said she didn't think that was necessary.

I don't know how common it is for actors to work with an IC before production, so I don't know if she was refusing something standard or if Baldoni was asking for something uncommon.

I think some of these questions will be clarified if the IC is deposed... not sure if we'll have access to that though. They might settle before something like that comes out.

I think it will come down to having an IC present to avoid situations like this.

Agree, and also want to note this is one scene. Lively's complaint is a series of events, of which this is just one.

I don't think this footage exonerates him or PR best her complaint. I see two people who don't like each other but have to work closely together. I see a somewhat demanding, hard to work with star. I see a director who is aggravated with that and overlooking/ignoring the fact that she does not seem happy or comfortable.

Beyond that, I don't know.

I have a hard time believing an “intimacy coordinator” is required for a fully clothed dancing scene with a kiss?

Well clearly it is if it’s going to cause this.

^ should say I do not think the footage exonerates him or proves her complaint

The point of the IC is to ensure consent and protect the actor's interests in intimate scenes. I think on a set where everyone likes each other and there are no weird power dynamics, it probably baby wouldn't be necessary.

But these two clearly don't get along, Baldoni being the director creates a weird dynamic, and I can also see how for Lively, the fact that he's being very handy and kissing her neck and just touching her all over crossed a line.

I do think an IC would probably done a better job of recognizing Lively was uncomfortable with the level of contact and been skilled in negotiating a compromise there.

I always thought she was a fake fraud because she’s a Jewish girl from California who had a ton of surgeries to try to look Nordic or something and then got married and tried to brand herself like some New England WASP mom. Everything about her is fake. Look at how she looked in her teens to now. Her face is totally different. It’s startling.

Even if all this is true. Doesn’t this just make him a bad director? I don’t see any intent here to harass or abuse.

+1.I thought he was respectful and just trying to get the scene done. As a director, he probably has a lot on his mind about production and cast expenses and wants to finish stuff on schedule. The debating the lighting and blocking slows everything down.

The “power couple” thought they could ruin this guy’s life for sport and he’s fighting back with receipts. Love it! Her and her husband are so damn insufferable. Shameless money grabbers. Bring all the receipts and expose their asses.

Isn't this a lot of actors though? I assume most of them have had plastic surgery. Also having procedures like that in your teens... how much of that is her doing what she wants, versus her parents/agents/industry people telling her what to do in order to get jobs?

Not saying she's a total innocent -- I've never really liked her and find her arrogant and annoying. But I have trouble working up anger about her plastic surgery when it's so common and was probably necessary for having a career.

Baldoni hasn't embraced his Jewishness either so what's the issue?

This is bat shlt crazy. An IC shouldn’t be needed for a clothed scene like this. This isn’t even close to the norm for production.

She’s had Kardashian-level surgeries but they get ridicule while she acts like she was born this way and leans into some fake New England WASP rich mom construct. And then pushes a beauty line on impressionable girls while there’s literally nothing natural about you at all & you’ve paid surgeons boatloads of money to totally modify and conceal your genetics? While her and hubby are also not nice but ruthless money grabbing Hollywood schemers. Just the whole thing is all very creepy and just teases out what a deceptive conniver she is.

Blake is Jewish, as are Scarlet Johansson and Alanis Morissette. Is Ryan Reynolds Jewish too? Seems a little odd all the women he’s ever been linked to are Jewish.

Blake Lively is not Jewish. She's Scottish, English and German.

I’m Jewish and I have eyes. Google photos when she was a teen. That’s a Jewish gal.
