Your data is unfortunately old. Royals go up and down the popularity levels all the time. Harry has long been popular and I never questioned that he could be one of the most popular royals, but that won't be the case anymore. Here's a more "recent" poll from last August 2019, making it newer than your April 2019 poll, and also from YouGov, that shows Kate Middleton more popular than Meghan: https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/9719749/kate-middleton-beats-meghan-markle-royal-popularity-poll/ In case you refuse to look at it, it shows Kate at 64% approval, while Meghan has dropped all the way to 49% I'll grant you that Kate and Meghan had a lot of goodwill after their marriage, they were fresh and new. But they are not going to be popular in the UK today. They, especially Meghan, lost a lot of popularity consistently through 2019 due to the growing perception of entitlement. The real issue here is Meghan, not Harry. And even your polls shows Meghan's popularity well below the other royals. |
Am I missing something? Is the "work of a royal" to win popularity contests? |
Yep, especially at this time of year, and when the weather has been warm in the winter, the ice roads cannot open. https://www.nrcan.gc.ca/sites/www.nrcan.gc.ca/files/canmetenergy/files/pubs/2013-118_en.pdf |
A) The conversation is about blood royals and Prince Harry has always been the most popular B) Kate SHOULD BE more popular than Meghan at every point. She's been in the royal family for 9 years. 19 if you count her waity dates. |
I am not an MM stan but I do know something about comms. This isn't unusual for someone in her situation. I wouldn't read a lot into it. Also, I don't think you know they dropped her. It's likely for some of them, she dropped them, or it was a mutual separation. Often when a celebrity decides to terminate a relationship with a PR firm, the PR firm will quietly spread the rumors they dropped the person, regardless of what the actual truth is. There are plenty of reasons to dislike H&M, but making a big deal of this particular fact sounds a bit ignorant. I think all the royals are petty and spoiled, and should just go away, but MM switching PR firms is nbd. |
Your comments are getting tired. I think you need some new talking points. |
Eh. Someone keeps arguing that Harry and Meghan are insanely popular. What I see in all these polls is that Harry was popular, but Meghan was not. At least with the UK public. Based on some of the posts you'd think the public was kissing the ground Meghan was walking on and that she was a threat to Kate, somehow, when clearly the polls are not showing that at all. |
There was barely a blip about Andrew and the alleged pedophilia prior to this as well from the Rota media, at least. They're hiding it, likely at the request of the BRF, and probably have been for years. The British media has barely covered Andrew's disgusting behavior -- most of the solid reporting on him has been from US media. It's only now that they can't keep ignoring it because of US coverage that it's getting any traction in the UK. That's mostly an example of how awful the BRF is, and I do think it's possible the courtiers linked the H&M plan early to distract from Andrew, but I doubt H&M had anything to do with it. |
Agreed. |
Same but its par for the course on how they operate. Hide every scandal and affair until its impossible any more. I saw a couple reporters on the day Harry's declaration broke lamenting that they tried to 'smooth over' (read: ignore) the rising tensions between William & Harry back in spring 2019. When anyone with eyes could see it. Anyway the BRF is back to sucking up to the media again. First time I've EVER seen Piers respectfully refer to Camilla as the future Queen Consort. As long as they do that they don't get this |
Piers will do and say anything to remain relevant. |
| Is there any credence to the reports saying that the final straw for Harry was the photo of the Queen with Charles, William and George? It’s not like they included Camilla and the rest of the Cambridges and just left the Sussexes out. |
Selective memory? It was covered pretty thoroughly last year before the Harry + Meghan thing broke out. All that press around Andrew being effectively fired from royal duties by his mother. All the furor over the interview he gave and how it effectively destroyed him and his future. And people are still talking about it - as this thread shows. I suspect the real reason it hasn't gained much traction is because aspects of the case are still up in the air and speculation and there's legal ramifications surrounding it and people are waiting to see what happens next. The girl in question was also 17, not 7, which is what most people think of when they hear the word pedophile. Still under age but not quite in the same way. So the perception is that he's a fat lewd old guy going after a nubile teen, which is not the same as someone going after a child. |
And yet, he's not being harassed daily by the "Rota" and absurd articles in the Daily Fail ... hmm wonder why that is ... |
