Wouldn't be shocked at some point to see McNair and/or Coates mapped to Herndon based on proximity and available capacity

Didn't they effectively decide who they'll be moving to Herndon in a few years when they reassigned most of the Tysons areas zoned to Longfellow-Mclean to Cooper-Langley? That seems more likely than moving McNair and/or Coates to Herndon at this point.

It would increase the FARMs rate by too much so it is not going to happen.

You sound like that Herndon mom who claimed to represent all the PTAs in Herndon at the board meeting a couple months back.

It’s going to be several years until the next review, you should get a hobby.

McNair, Coates, Floris, Oak Hill are non negotiables. The 5th school is a question - Fox Mill, Crossfield, Lees Corner, or Navy.

I was responding to the unlikely suggestion that McNair and/or Coates will get moved to Herndon (rather than to Skyview). Opening Skyview makes that highly unlikely. Moving a large section of Tysons to Langley, on the other hand, increases the likelihood of Forestville moving to Herndon at some point.

By the way, you should read Policy 8130. It commits to a county-wide review at least every five years, but it doesn't mean they can't change boundaries sooner.

This is what should happen. Always possible, of course, that Reid will derail what makes the most sense.

You think they’re going to do another review sooner? The entire school board and all of FCPS (not to mention all of us) are so sick of wasting the last couple years on this at the exclusion of everything else.

You're acting like they won't take up boundaries at all before 2029-30. At a minimum they'll be looking at Skyview boundaries by mid-2026 and the 4-5 unresolved issues that Reid said she'd come back to the School Board with recommendations on by January 2027. In addition, if they plan to add AAP to every middle school, they may start thinking about potential boundary adjustments relating to that plan before 2029-30. It seems more likely any other stuff would wait until later.

You are probably right.

They are supposed to provide three scenarios so I won't be suprised to see scenarios where

1. Lees Corner is included (i.e. Option E)
2. Fox Mill is included (minor variation of Option B)
3. Crossfield is included (minor variation of Option A)

Fox Mill was in options B, C, and D. I know those are no longer but it was in 3 of the initial drafts that were mentioned.

These are probably the most fair options. And hopefully the options this round show the full implications for other schools like Centerville and Westfield. I think it would be pretty unfair for them to exclude Crossfield from any options at this point just because some people complained early on. Everyone should be on an even playing field in terms of seeing proposed changes and having an opportunity to give feedback. There are some people who are going to be affected that probably don’t even realize it right now. It doesn’t seem fair for certain groups to have had a head start, so to speak, on advocating for themselves.

No, I think that Crossfield was in 3, but Fox Mill was in 1.

I really think they're going to throw us for a loop and add Navy to one of the scenarios - Navy kids go to Chantilly and Oakton.
