I have a toddler daughter and I live in fear that she is going to be raped and that nobody will believe her.

I am a woman who would be horrified if a CBF testified about my son the way she did about Kavanaugh. Because she was credible and believable and not likely lying.

With no damn evidence. Nothing to support her claims. Nothing.
If my son were ever accused of anything close to this with a total lack of evidence it would be laughable. An accusation does not equal guilt.

Rachel Mitchell, Republican’s outside questioner, privately told GOP senators tonight that based on the evidence she heard at the hearing, she would not have prosecuted or even been able to obtain a search warrant, according to three Republicans

It’s not a trial. Nobody’s looking for a search warrant. We just want to know what kind of man Kavanaugh is. We found out yesterday.

There are people on this thread and in the US Senate who will hate anyone Trump appointed for this seat and would have done the same to them because they are so afraid Roe v. Wade will be overturned. Kavanaugh, as Graham said so succinctly is in the wrong town at the wrong time. I don’t know how our country ever heals from such hatred.

Bull$hit. No one feels this way about Gorsuch. They might not like his politics, but he is a normal and decent guy. He could even make it through an interview without crying and being a sniveling ahole. It was so apparent that Kavanaugh is an entitled, spoiled ahole who thinks he is entitled to this seat, regardless of what he has done.

Your response is disingenuous at best, despite your dollar sign.

NP - rationalize calling PP’s response as disingenuous.

I have a toddler son and live in fear that I’ll somehow raise an entitled patriarchal rapist.

Kavanaugh claimed there was a “sworn” statement from Mark Judge, but it’s actually a letter from his lawyer that’s not even admissible in court as a statement by Judge.

How can a SC nominee get away with so many blatant lies?

He’s more informed than you are.

Staff contacted Mark Judge and obtained a statement under penalty of felony. Staff contacted third person allegedly at party described by Dr. Ford and obtained a statement under penalty of felony. Staff contacted fourth person allegedly at party.

I felt his reaction was very human. What would you do if you were falsely accused of something horrendous? (Which is not to say Ford wasn’t credible - she was).

Let’s put aside the accusations for a minute.
If you were hiring someone at your office, and you brought them in for a second interview, and they yelled at some of your coworkers and behaved like he did yesterday, would you still hire him? I wouldn’t.
This is a job interview. There are lots of other qualified candidates.

Then teach your son he has no right to a woman's body and not
To be a rapist. He will be fine. False accusations are so rare.

I always find this kind of response so lame. As if all of us mothers of sons who are upset with how Kavanaugh was treated teach our sons to disrespect and sexually assault women.

- mother to sons and daughters

Oh my gosh. Get over yourselves, people. You must be a horrible parent to make such a statement.

I have both boys and girls and I’m worried about what we are doing for all of them.

Yesterday was NOT a job interview.
It was more of a trial. He was f’ing defending himself from heinous charges. His job interview was the 30+ hours he spent testifying.

Well he failed and furthermore lied under oath.

I would have my friend who the victim is claiming was there testify and have the FBI investigate. Because I would want my name cleared. I would not yell and act a female senator if you ever got blackout drunk. But I am not an entitled 80s private school guy, so what do I know.

I watched the hearing with an open mind and came away with many deep seated concerns about Kavanaugh’s character.

Two things stood out: His highly partisan take was disappointing. It was also kind of surprising he deliberately lied about the drinking age at the time. That fact is easily checkable and shows that he kid.

He could drink legally in DC. Tons of people went into DC to parties and bars. This is not a big deal.

As a senior, and in DC, true. In 1982, he was not a senior, and he wasn't in DC, nor was he consuming in DC. So, ya, illegal.

One more thing... you cannot possible “put aside the accusation for a minute” when you are talking about what happened yesterday. THAT IS WHAT YESTERDAY WAS ALL ABOUT.
