| Not sure how "Southern" the vibe is there. DC is a minority, btw. Anyone with experience? Are those schools fairly cosmopolitan? |
|
Emory? Really? Emory is more statistically Jewish than Tel Aviv on a Saturday.
|
| Both are very cosmopolitan and draw students from around the country. Emory has a lovely campus. Georgia Tech has a much more utilitarian campus - not very attractive BUT if you are into engineering or business, you can't go wrong with that school. Both would have lots of nonwhite students. It is possible you might run into a confederate flag, but then you could at a frat party in any part of the country. |
| Some people really display how little they get out of DC. |
+1. You don't get out much, do you OP? |
No Flags flying but Greek life is pretty active there. |
| Holy.Fucking.Shit. PLEASE do not send your child there. For the sake of everyone. |
| The rebel fag is very offensive. |

Ah, this is a legit question, and one my in-laws from New York would ask, too.
I went to UGA almost 20 years ago when there really was a Confederate flag flying. There were pockets of very overt racism in Athens back then; hopefully 20 years have changed that. Georgia Tech, I don't really know, but Emory (and Atla. even back then) was diverse and pretty cosmopolitan. It's different than DC, but it's not a backwoods school. |
Oh god thank you for that, I have not laughed so hard all day. You're so right by the way! |
Some people travel a lot. Just not to southern states. |
|
I was passed by a truck today (in DC) that had multiple confederate flag stickers on it, along with a bumper sticker that read 'heritage not hate' or some such bullshit.
oh yeah, it had DC plates. THe world is FULL of fuckwits, and sadly we (DC) appear not to be immune. --UGA class of '88 (no flags that I recall, plenty of minorities) |
| Didn't Geoirgia just approve a vanity plate of the conferderate flag? |
| OP is an idiot. I know many AA that went to georgia tech and loved it. |
| OP is an idiot or a race-baiter. |
