This is the Fashion board...where what people wear is discussed. And this is the thread where what people wore to Inauguration is discussed. You go away! There is a politics board for you |
Well yes, that is part of it. It has to fit in with your overall look. If you overall look like you are having yourself surgeried into a living sex doll, then your clothes are going to be read in that context. With this young woman, she looks like she is a young creative who doesn't care if you think she's sexy or good looking - she's wearing what she likes because she likes it, not because she's trying to present herself as merchandise. She looks like someone you would talk to because you think she has something interesting to say. |
WWD, Vogue, Town & Country, and virtually every other media outlet that covers fashion and style beg to differ. https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2021/01/ella-emhoffs-inauguration-look-steals-the-show https://www.vogue.com/article/ella-emhoff-inauguration-dress-2021 (Actual quote from this article: “Ella has such a point of view and a style that you don’t always think about in D.C., because, like...D.C. has the worst style. I lived in this world, so I know; in D.C., you’re mostly rocking Ann Taylor Loft.”) https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/politics/a35258299/ella-emhoff-kamala-harris-stepdaughter-inauguration-style-photos/ |
I can objectively say I agree with you as a Biden supporter. II think the outfit itself is not amazing and had a Trumpster worn it it would be torn apart. It is frumpy. |
You have been reported. No need for your nastiness towards a young woman that is there as a family member. You could say you don't like it, and end with that. I pity your daughters if you have them. I pity your sons. |
Brrrrrr! Why do men get to wear jackets and trousers and proper shoes, and women have to pretend they're not freezing to bits. |
It looks better in the full picture. The coat that is. Though the large point collar is very 70s poly suit throwback. The burgundy dress is still bad. |
I mean on this thread most people are agreeing that the coat and dresses were ugly. There is one rabid loon who thinks they are in the know about fashion that keeps trying to say otherwise. And the PP up thread that doesn’t understand that of course the magazines are going to trip over themselves lauding this because at this point everyone wants to support Biden. Ultimately none of it matters. Fashion is a personal choice. She liked it. We don’t. 🤷🏻♀️ There’s no need to try to convince people otherwise or play thread police. |
Reported for what? You are insane. |
Nah, you can get away with wearing “ugly” clothes that make basic internet harpies lose their minds if you have the cool/the vibe/the inner confidence that money can’t buy. She’s not going to try to look how you want her to look and she DGAF. Tiff and Ivanka, on the other hand, try sooo hard to fit a mold, which just makes it even funnier when they screw it up. |
I love this so much! Those girls are precious! |
You have a screw lose. PP only mentions not liking the coat. She in fact days the young woman is “looks fine, well groomed, put together.” Where is this PP criticizing the person and not the coat? |
|
I will say that the real style winner of the entire inauguration was:
Bernie Sanders. He outshone everybody with this unique fashion sense. |
If this is your list of fashion winners, I think Kamala's great-nieces in their animal print coats deserve a mention. Hard to find anything more adorable that the photo a couple pages back. |
Right, all those fashion journalists are secretly snickering at that $5,000 Miu Miu coat. |
