Not my cup of tea but they're young and should be having fun experimenting with fashion.

No. They look like pioneer women

+1 That’s not fashion. Quirky yes, but not fashion.

You may not like it, but Batsheva and Ulla Johnson = fashion. And since when is quirky equivalent to not fashion?

Like them or hate them (and I like them), it is so refreshing to see young women in the president’s orbit not dolled up to look pleasing to men
.

You left out ......or women.

How many runaway shows have you been to? I'm honestly curious.

These remind me of Christian Siriano FW2020.

You do realize that just because a fashion designer came up with something and paraded it down the runway, doesn’t mean that creation is attractive or flattering, right? We get that you fancy yourself in the know about all things fashion, but plenty of others here are as well. And we think those particular creations would be right at home on the prairie.

What PP must be saying is that Christian Siriano FW2020 went for a quirky pioneer lady look (that we don't have to like).

I wonder if the pearls are for Harris

To be fair, Laura Bush’s MIL is known for wearing pearls, so could be a family thing.

I do think that even for conservative women there is a sense of excitement and solidarity over the first woman VP.

Or she's wearing pearls because pearls are classic?

Oh no! Are you worried you can't wear your pearls anymore because now people are going to think you're a Democrat?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You're quoting me and I AM a democrat, dumbass. I'm just tired of people on here trying to read something into the most trivial things. EVERYONE wears pearls, especially people of her generation.

I guess Laura Bush wearing purple was just something only idiots like the AP noticed because AKSHUALLY she always wears purple and was barely even aware that other women at the event were wearing it for symbolic reasons

I think it is because high heels just do not work on marble floors. Dangerous.

I'm not ashamed to admit that on a rainy day I have totally bit it on a marble floor in the Capitol building (and in a couple other Fed buildings as well). I have little grippy sticker things I put on the bottoms now.

I fell on my a** so many times during my brief & miserable stint as a Congressional staffer that I became convinced that I was going to break my tailbone - or neck - at some point there. I ended up wearing a lot of rubber soled shoes - which looked fantastic, no doubt - and looking for another job.

This dresses are beyond ugly. And they don't fit.

Ugly collar.

I love the whole thing. Quirky, youthful, and fun.

The shoulders are amazing

+1. I love that jeweled jacket.

Root beer! It was root beer hard candies I was trying to remember!

This outfit isn't cute or fashionable. If Tiff or Ivanka would have wore this everyone would be tearing it apart. Granted, it is probably this woman's style, but it is weird and not pretty. But she looks fine, groomed, put-together. I guess you can only wear ugly clothes and have it be acceptable if you also aren't trying to look sexy and have fake blonde hair/breasts.

Second Stepdd looks nice and totally youthful and appropriate! I love it.
I also love that there is a white stepdd with African Indian VP. If only Michelle was the Prez!
And I am an Eastern European white 50-year-olds, woman! Naturalized citizen.
I am happy for Biden, it was the best choice for this year and for what was needed. But, I sure hope Michelle runs in the future.

Go away! It is very much the style with some young women. Not with my dd, but the girl is as cute as a bug. Stop tearing women down, you evil misogynist who is a shame to her own gender!

I agree, It’s absolutely not my cup of tea. I think my 80-year-old mother would love this though because it’s her preference that everybody dressed like the turn of the century.

On the other hand, it is a fashion statement which is exactly what they wanted so I can appreciate that.
