Why is DJT so obsessed with pushing hydroxychloroquine?

You can't rug sweep or minimize this. What he wrote is completely incorrect, dangerously irresponsible and frankly absurd. This is not a political issue. He has terrible judgment.

For the umpteenth time, there were many reasons beyond the French studies which made this drug a reasonable candidate. Trump is not a medical person, he has no prescriptive powers in any hospital or clinic. You must think doctors are idiots. Did you think Trump was a doctor and did that confuse you?

For the umpteenth time, what is a "medical person"?

Yes, when the President called an unproven treatment "a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine" that did confuse me. Grownups don't talk that way.

Trump is entitled to an opinion based on the information he saw. Non medical people often speak about medical developments. There were multiple opinions presented on that very same day, some by trump, and a more cautious response at the exact same time by Dr. Fauci.

A medical person is the least educated in medical hierarchy. I have no scientific background whatsoever, I do not treat patients, or work in critical care, I do not understand infectious diseases, virology, or pharmacology, I have not spent decades in school with advanced degrees, never done independent research, never published papers, and I have an elementary school education.

You: "Trump is entitled to air his opinions on Twitter and national television, no matter how harmful or poorly informed they are."

His behavior is indefensible.

Fauci was right next to him with an expert opinion. I never want to hear another Hollywood elite or politician, whining about anything which they have no expertise ever again. So I assume you hold Democrat’s to the same standard, right?

I don't hold anyone from Hollywood or politicians of either political party to the same standard that I hold the President of the United States.

Yes. I would be furious at a Democratic President who spouted off ill-informed and dangerous medical opinions, especially during a pandemic.

You: "Only idiots would actually believe what the President says."

He has terrible judgment and is unfit to be President.

No a Fauci said it best, which was: data needed to be reviewed. He said it on national TV, standing next to Trump. Physicians were not listening to trump, they were paying attention to Fauci. I expect physicians to critically evaluate data and use evidence based practices. that has been the prevailing guidance of treatments and the standard of care for years now. Many years. I’m pointing out that lay people think they have a “gotcha moment”. When they really don’t. You’re trying too hard.

You, again: "Only idiots actually listen to our President."

It is morally wrong for him to speculate that this drug may be "biggest game changers in the history of medicine." You may be an expert "medical person" but it is plain for even Kindergartners to see.

x1 million

He's unfit for POTUS. Period.

Talk to the Democratic lawmaker from Detroit about that. The one who credits HCQ with saving her life.

And, it is absolutely pathetic that her party is planning a censure vote because she spoke up. Let that be a lesson to other Democrats who dare to speak anything in support of the president.

And, this is the comment by the chairman..... if this doesn't scream, "Toe the line or we will oust you!" nothing does......

“At the end of the day, we have political systems,” said Jonathan Kinloch, chairman of the organization. “We have political parties, and political parties exist for a reason."

“They do not belong to themselves,” Kinloch said of endorsed candidates and elected officials. “They belong to the members and precinct delegates of the Democratic Party.”

You cannot justify what he did. He was wrong, dead wrong.

And for the umpteenth time, NOBODY disputes that HDL is a "reasonable candidate." Nobody. Obviously it's reasonable; otherwise reputable scientists would not be doing clinical trials. The issue is that NOBODY KNOWS if it works yet or not, and that was NOT the message being pushed out by Trump/Fox.

Turn off Maddow.

“It’s shown very, very encouraging early results” among researchers, Trump said. These two drugs “taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine,” he stated via Twitter.

“Very encouraging” and “real chance” are words of aspiration, not prescription. And Trump repeatedly has said that these drugs ultimately might fail, but nonetheless should be investigated.

“If we’re going to go into labs and test all of this for a long time, we can test it on people right now who are in serious trouble, who are dying,” Trump told journalists. “If it works, we’ve done a great thing. If it doesn’t work, you know, we tried.” Trump asked bluntly: “What the hell do you have to lose?”

And, I guess you must hate Cuomo as well.

Like Trump, Cuomo said Monday giving sick COVID patients doses of hydroxychloroquine is a worthy experiment to try to save lives.

“There has been anecdotal evidence that it is promising, that’s why we’re going ahead, doctors have to prescribe it. There are some people who have pre-existing conditions where it doesn’t work, or they’re taking medication that’s not consistent with this treatment, but anecdotally it’s been positive,” the governor said during a press briefing in Albany.

LOL.

That is your evidence that he’s fit for office?

Uh, no. He’s simply unfit for POTUS. He should go back to being a b-list reality tv host.

I can't turn on Maddow. I don't have cable.
I literally know nothing about Cuomo. I don't live in New York. I never have. No one in my family lives there either. He is irrelevant to my life.
I can vote for President.
Trump wrote this: "HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN, taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine. The FDA has moved mountains - Thank You!"
I won't forget.

You are missing the point entirely. It doesn't matter if we cheer or boo or scream or whisper or cry. The science doesn't care about your feelings. Trump and his supporters don't seem to understand that.

+1. And apparently some actual lupus sufferers were having a hard time getting it after Trump’s little charade. One woman wrote about having to order it from Britain.
