What is the Mayor or Council members saying about this? on 93.9, the hip-hp radio station spoke about it, but the lady kept on pronouncing Maret wrong.

Maret is committed to being a good neighbor and partner, not just with BGCGW and DPR, but with dozens of D.C. organizations. We take it so seriously that “building community” is in Maret’s Mission Statement. We have developed reciprocal relationships which benefit both Maret and our community partners. In fact, both Stoddert Soccer, the Boys and Girls Club and many other community organizations use indoor and outdoor spaces at Maret’s 3000 Cathedral Avenue campus in the late afternoons and on weekends.

Willing to bet it is a 2 sided option, meaning DC was not obligated to extend solely on Maret's request. That's why they don't want to show it.

Not a FOIA expert, but I don't think it falls into any of the exceptions, especially since it is an executed agreement- so you can't make an argument that theybwould reveal something still in negotiation.

I would be willing to bet a Post writer has FOIA'd it. But there are ways to slow walk it, for sure.

What garbage. Doing shady backroom deals devoid of all transparency and due process and in contravention to DC government policy is not being a "good neighbor and partner". The 2009 contract is subject to FOIA, whatever they're negotiating today probably is confidential. If you read what was posted there's talk of an easement, Maret insisted that the contract be recorded on the deed as an encumbrance on the deed because they didn't trust DPR not to renege (smart). So the Recorder of Deeds office would have a copy.
