I completely agree with this! I've always thought that.

Glass doors are actually more unsafe. Should there be an emergency situation, such as an active shooter, the shooter would be easily able to see into the classroom to see if children are present and/or easily break the glass and gain entry if the door is locked. Perhaps keeping doors open is a better solution.

Glass doors are more unsafe IN THE EXTREMELY UNLIKELY EVENT that an active shooter situation happens. But that's rare enough that it's not worth designing your entire building around how to protect against it.

Sorry is this was recently discussed, but has anyone who has spoken to Detective Buc gotten the impression they were close to an arrest?

Obviously they are professional who know how to deal with this, but what worries me is how difficult it is to get facts from a 2, 3, 4 or even 5 year old. Without an adult witness, I fear it will be tough to make a case (I pray I am wrong).

Maybe I’m just being skeptical of everything at that place right now...

What?! Where was this announcement?

Why do you need this answer? If for some reason the anonymous poster on here had the wrong information you could be led to believe that your child was 'safe' from this horrible incident. Talk to you child to see if it seems like they were involved. Gender of the abused children will not rule in or rule out your child.

I get what you’re saying but there is no need to shame anyone on here. Everyone is just trying to piece together what they can especially considering how vague the stories/reports have been. Asking a 3 year old questions regarding inappropriate interactions is beyond tricky and parents are literally in the dark. Let people ask their questions. I’m not saying people shouldn’t talk to their children (clearly that’s the first step) but perhaps the more info people can collect, the more likely they will be able to come to a conclusion regarding what happened, particularly with regards to their own children.

No matter what, this entire situation is heartbreaking. No child or family deserves this.

This. Plus, most of us are dealing with very little. We have small children, some of whom are barely verbal. You better believe that we are speaking to them and searching for any clues that they might have been impacted to make sure that we are getting them the proper care. That said, from the various posts, you can gather that the accused is a man who was a teacher, is a father, and gave kids high fives in the hallway. He was employed starting in the Spring of 2016, but may have been involved with the school or temple in a formal or informal way earlier than that. Due to lack of any information, this is all I have. Do I care if it's all 100% correct? Nope. It just gives me something to work with...something to keep the conversation going with my kid and makes me feel less helpless and like I'm doing something. Whether or not the victims are female or male or both is a helpful thing to know. Would I believe one poster? Maybe...2 or 3? Sure as I have nothing else. It also doesn't mean that I don't stop everyday over analyzing everything my kid does.

I totally understand and share your torment... if you are at school, you should easily identify who the person is, the only teacher who did not come back. You can look at the dorectory? Or ask the parents comittee chairs, not sure what is their role right now in all of this but I would hope they get somehow involved to help. If you have girls, I do not want to say you are safe but all the cases I heard of were boys. There were several posts saying we should take the conversation off line and that we should soon meet. I certainly hope we can do it soonest, time is of the essence. I tried to get information out of my little one - like you - without much success then he started to tell things to family members. I hope this helps!

I feel quite badly about the Rabbi. No matter anyone’s opinion at this point, that is horrible that he had a stroke. Is there any indication of the severity?

The lawyer told me one of the victims was a girl. Was he lying about that too?
Anonymous
Why hasn’t an arrest been made and why hasn’t the name been released?
Anonymous
I too have heard about a girl. Does anyone know the ages of the kids? 2-3? 3-4?
Anonymous
Regarding the lawyer, I’ve heard many different things from him. I’m sure things are changing day by day so he may not be intentionally deceiving anyone, but regardless I don’t put much stock into what he’s saying anymore. And again, his focus is his client, the Temple.
Anonymous
The lawyer’s one and only job is to head off the (inevitable) lawsuits and protect the temple. Please don’t expect to rely on him for a forthright discussion of anything.
