Have you read this thread? There are lots of possible answers to both these questions throughout this chain.

Mild enough that he wrote a cogent letter.

? I am with you. WHC Parents have the right to hear the name from them, bare minimum.

We’re not temple members so we didn’t get the letter. Didn’t realize it came out under his signature.

I agree completely! Yes, it is his job to handle the future legal implications thus he will not say too much to us but I doubt he is giving people false information. I HATE to play the gender guessing game and unfortunately both girls and boys may have been involved. I know of several mothers of boys who have reasons to be concerned and none of girls. I do not know the gender of the first two kids or of the 5 names they revealed. If anyone has that information, unless it hurts the investigation (not sure how or why it would) please, please kindly share. I am a mother of a boy and we need to take difficult decisions, likely go through a painful process under the assumption and some indication that he was not safe. If you heard that only girls were affected, it would not change things too much for us but it is helpful to hear. I do not think I will be able to sleep at night for a long time and yes, I will not rely only on what I read here but, once again, this would be useful for us to know. I still pray that we hear this was a false alarm for everyone!!!

May I ask if the children you’ve heard from were from this teacher’s class or various classes? Also, how old are they?

Has anyone heard if the victims were both boys and girls?

i need this answer as well.

Why do you need this answer? If for some reason the anonymous poster on here had the wrong information you could be led to believe that your child was 'safe' from this horrible incident. Talk to you child to see if it seems like they were involved. Gender of the abused children will not rule in or rule out your child.

I don’t think this was meant as to be rude in anyway but more to warn parents against feeling like your child can be ruled out by gender. The posts that follow seem to point to this exactly in that some people have heard that only boys are involved but others have heard of a girl that is a potential victim as well. This is just horrible and no parent should have to figure this out.

Also so many of us just have tidbits of information right now so I think it’s impossible for us to mentally rule out any group of kids based on age or gender

I wasn’t able to make it to the coffee chat at the School this morning. Can anyone who went give an update on how it went? Did the school have any new information to share? Thank you!

I went to the meeting this morning. Rabbi Shankman did a fine job listening, taking notes, and walking the fine line about what she can and can't say. The bottom line is that the investigation is ongoing and contact the detective with questions. While the situation is incredibly frustrating, there is little that can be shared at this point.

It is linked above. Sounds like two minor strokes a bit apart in time. Obviously not good, but not incapacitating at the time nor severely disabling afterwards.

Washington_Hebrew_Congregation]Dear Parents and Members of the Washington Hebrew Congregation,

We are deeply appreciative of your concern and interest in the developments at Washington Hebrew. When we first became aware of an allegation of potential inappropriate behavior by a single individual, we immediately reported the allegations to the police who began an investigation. We have been working closely with the police, who have asked us not to share certain information publicly out of concern that disclosing more specific information than we have already shared could compromise their investigation.

Our first concern is with the safety of our children. Law enforcement is actively and aggressively investigating the allegations. We will pass on any information that we learn as guided by the police. If you have any questions for the school, please contact us directly using the information provided to you in the communication sent yesterday.

-DJ Schneider Jensen, Head of Schools, Early Childhood Education

-Way too much time has passed without penalty.
But your “first concern is with the safety of our children”
Bahaha

Dj Jensen,

I’ll just hold you accountable at this point.

I am disgusted by DJ’s reference to “our” children in that letter. Just disgusted.
