+1 It was such a ridiculous fabrication. I don't think either was quite ready to give up on the marriage though. |

The characterization of Caroline was not good. And John represented as much sweeter, and weaker, than he was. Overconfidence and surface charm was a huge part of who he was.
Really only appreciated the actors who played Edith, Ann, and Calvin Klein. |

The fake ending is infinitely better than the reality…if you believe Reddit and gossip articles that say:
1. He was cheating with his ex Julie Baker for the last year of his life and she was with him at his hotel where he had been living the night before the accident. 2. Carolyn was either an addict OR JFK Jr concocted that narrative so he would have a plausible exit strategy that garnered sympathy. |
I think those three actors are the ones who will get Emmy noms. |
| I’m sad it’s over, I’ll miss this revisit to 90s nyc, and think it’s fine that the show romanticized their ending. it was made for entertainment, not to be a documentary, and as a love story leans in to the idea that they had chemistry and were drawn to each other even if they weren’t a practical match long term. I’d love to see Emmy nods for any of the actors playing Calvin and Kelly, Ethel, Ann, and Carolyn Bessette |
I mean, she has admitted to this. Several ex-girlfriends of his admitted to coming over that week at the Stanhope. This isn't a fabrication by People Magazine and Reddit. He was a serial cheater, like all Kennedy men. |
She admitted to going to the hotel but did she confirm they were sleeping together for the 12 months before he died? Because that’s the Reddit discussion. |
Oh I've never seen confirmation that they were having a year-long affair, no. In fact I've never heard that rumor. But I've heard the rumor, and her confirm, that she went to the Stanhope the night before the plane crash. And let's be honest, what reason do you have for going to your married ex-bf's hotel room other than sex? |
Exactly. Watching a video? Lmao. And no way their monthly lunches were strictly platonic. I can't believe she sat on his lap right in front of his wife. What an a-hole. |

Ending was positively ghoulish. No wonder Caroline's son was so worked up about it.
The woman just lost a child to cancer and they make some dramatized ending of her younger brother's death? |
| The Ethel character was so dumb. Why would a woman with 11 kids of her own and many many grandkids at that point, give an F about what her nephew, by marriage, does. |
| ^^I mean the characterization of her. I doubt she had any sway with JFK jr. nor cared much about his life and who he married. |
I was wondering the whole time what they were going to do with this and it was so low key that it almost seemed like he did it on purpose? WTF. |
Why did she go to the wedding with him if this is what was going on? |
She didn't want to and he had his secretary call her up and hound her into going. |
