Will return tomorrow

I know you're joking, but this kind of snow makes shoveling so dangerous on the body. MCPS is posting pics on Facebook making it look so fun and exciting, but I really hope the building service workers are taking care of themselves and taking breaks. I feel horrible for the women shoveling in jeans. They should have proper winter gear, provided by MCPS.

I wouldn't want to be shoveling in more the jeans. It wasn't that cold today. You're going to get hot quickly if you're working.

And you also singlehandedly shoveled your entire neighborhood, walked two miles to work, marveled at the pristine sidewalks on your route, all the while thinking about how your jeans are by far the best winter work gear you've ever purchased. Bravo!

I can tell you don't shovel. So can everyone else who does shovel. Particularly everyone who shoveled today.

I wore thermal long johns and a pair of joggers over it. Thermal top with a hoodie over that. No jacket but hats and gloves

Agreed.

They are under so many pressures right now. Many work two FT jobs. Others live in communities terrified of ICE.

Okay. Guess you win. I didn't shovel in jeans today. Must have been doing it all wrong.

DP, but I hate jeans and never wear them if I can help it. Today, I had on comfy, large corduroy pants that I tucked into my snowboots, and a thick cotton turtleneck. And then when I overheat while shoveling, I just open my jacket. For some reason, my fingers get super cold in my gloves and this is what breaks up my shoveling - when I can't feel my fingers and need to warm them up inside my house.

And I bet you didn't shovel yesterday, nor will you tomorrow.

Sure, the point is you're not going to what to wear snow pants while shoveling. You're going to get too hot. You just want a material that is dense enough to block the wind. Corduroy is an interesting choice, but it would work well.

Cold fingers is the common problem.

Again its the sidewalks and bus stops. As of tonight, people are forced to walk on major roads.

Have you heard of boots?

What do you think happens in other parts of the country? No school district or county clears school bus stops and every sidewalk.

Kids have been walking outside all day to go sledding. They can walk to school.

Bus stops have piles in front of them. The sleet has made it really hard to move. It’s just getting colder and harder as the week goes
