Not really sure what we got in exchange for all that.

PP here who has been defending Israel. I actually 100% agree with this. My main issue is that Israel is not a great power manipulating abroad - it’s a nation (a tiny one) with legitimate security interests.

Honestly, at this point the frankly antisemitic focus of international law and institutions has delegitimized it and hampered its ability to be persuasive to Israel at all (and of course persuasion is the only force available to international laws). No israel is destroying a state by bombing it. The reason there is a focus on Israel is because US foreign policy is solely about only doing Israel’s bidding. There is no US interest involved it just all Israel’s Lebensraum.
