LAPD has not ruled out a hate crime. The investigation into the death is still ongoing .For now the suspect is charged with involuntary manslaughter

It's really interesting to see the mainstream media right now. The shooting in Burlington, VT is just a little bullet on the NY Times whereas it takes center stage on the LA Times, ABC, NBC News. The NYT coverage of this whole conflict has been telling about the biases of the ownership and editors.

The Cornell student was not arrested within 24 hours, it was an online terror campaign that span several days, calling for Jewish women to be raped and Jewish students to be shot. Sure, of course the suspect's lawyer is going to say that. It really doesn't matter whether Kessler "spoke his mind" or not. The fact remains that HE was the one who was hit, causing him to fall and sustain a traumatic head injury, causing him to die. What about those facts do you not get?
