Link? To Joe feeling threatened, I doubt it - Klobuchar recused herself, if not she would have definitely been in the mix. I don't think Joe has delusions of his importance and is looking for someone trustworthy to work with and pass over the torch to. In that sense, it behooves him to find someone smarter than him. |
I find it fascinating that people are getting so worked up about what amounts to rumors. Holy crap, folks, hopefully Joe makes a decent choice, but every good American is going to vote for Biden/Whoever no matter what. Probably time to put the shallow judgments away. |
“ In late July, Mr. Plouffe and Mr. Axelrod embarked on a one-day trip from the campaign’s Chicago headquarters to audition all three, starting with Mr. Biden in Delaware. “Basically I said, ‘Forgive me for being so blunt, but how do we know you know how to shut up?’” Mr. Axelrod recalled asking. “An hour later, he finished answering. So I asked him another question.”” “ At some point, Mr. Biden also told Obama aides that “Barack would never have to worry” about him positioning himself for another presidential run. He was too old, he told them, and he viewed his new job as a capstone, not a catapult. But while both sides assumed that vow covered the duration of Mr. Obama’s presidency, what might happen after that was never explicitly stated. Mr. Biden was the only one of the finalists to make such a promise. “That was helpful,” Mr. Plouffe said.” A promise beaker. “ But they were still on different wavelengths. At meetings, there was usually a good deal of eye rolling when Mr. Biden began one of his long monologues. The vice president was the only person who would say “finally” four or five times before actually stopping, as one person in the room put it. James B. Comey, then the F.B.I. director, described the dynamic in his memoir: “President Obama would have a series of exchanges heading a conversation very clearly and crisply in Direction A. Then, at some point, Biden would jump in with, ‘Can I ask something, Mr. President?’” “Obama would politely agree,” Mr. Comey continued, “but something in his expression suggested he knew full well that for the next five or 10 minutes we would all be heading in Direction Z. After listening and patiently waiting, President Obama would then bring the conversation back on course.”” Joe does not want someone as VP who is YLS level |
“Works out more”?? Your comments were weird and illogical to begin with but now have crossed over into cuckoo territory. MI vs tiny electorally insignificant state. Nationally known vs national unknown. Not rocket science, you strange person. |
The imbeciles demanding a black woman represent the very worst of toxic identity culture. Choose the most qualified candidate who can help Biden beat Trump......how about that? |
How are they imbeciles? Black work are his most solid base. If Jim Clyburn had not endorsed Biden in SC, he would not be the nominee. That’s not identity politics, that’s politics. |
The Misogynistic pig is back. ![]() |
It’s literally identity politics. He can choose whomever he wants for whatever reason he wants but let’s not pretend. |
Have some standards - being a Rhodes scholar and being fit should be lauded. Are we republicans? |
NP: I’m a lurker, I‘ve only read a few pages of this, and I freely admit that I can’t keep up. Until reading this post, the only Rice that I thought was on Biden’s short list was Susan Rice. Is Condoleeza Rice actually on the list as well? Or is Condoleeza Rice only on your personal list as a “huge bomb to drop”?
[Report Post] ^^^^^^^^^^ No she is not on the list. She came to mind as an example of another woman who checks nearly every qualifications box (except being a registered Democrat — but people can change parties). There is no perfect candidate without some controversy, and while l think would be a very bold and strong move to consider someone like her during a time like this it is too late at this point and I’m not suggesting it. But again, the larger point is it could work. Maybe not last election, maybe not next election - but this one. we have rogue republicans for the first time too — this is the time where things are different and you can move forward by leaps and bounds when you change the status quo to adapt to the new environment. Yes, yes - that is outrageous prissy thinking for sure. ![]() |
And you can’t just ban TikTok and sue twitter, or scratch someone’s back at XYZ to make it all go away. Thank(?) big data and changes in privacy laws for that too. |
So that means you don't like Harris due to her lack of a top-tier education, right? |
This. We need a senate that won’t stall on relief if Americans need it. Maybe you don’t want to play ball with the other side, but until they are voted out, or exposed for fraudulent election, those are the rules. Don’t want 4 years of continuing resolutions, government shutdowns, and bickering. along those lines, this is one of the reasons I was very excited for the possibility of Bass. Her low key gift of repair and negotiation across the aisle and willingness to allow younger candidates more time to prove themselves to Americans for a more informed and less emotional vote in 2024. |
Third tier toilet? |
