Being royal is nice but as you age up you age out unless you're the future monarch. Notice I didn't say consort - cause Phillip is 94 and living in a cottage right now.

Diana got plenty. After all, when she died it was all divided up between the boys and it ain't chump change.

At the time of Diana's death in 1997 the Queen's personal wealth was probably no more than a hundred million with the rest strictly tied up in unrealized assets (even if that high, I think I heard of estimates around 80 million). The billions you hear is due to the palaces and art and the royal collection, which the gossip mags always assume is there's, but isn't. But when you do serious research you'll soon discover it's a lot lower.

Diana got quite a lot out of the divorce settlement. Harry's estimated 30 million is mostly from his share.
