Why is Blake Lively so overrated?

Blake had full power on that set and then eventually took full control of the film and got a huge financial stake in it through the executive producer credit, and kicked the director-producer out of the premier in a public way that was embarrassing and obvious and distracting. She had full power and he had all of it taken away from him. And she used her very powerful husband to do it.

If the roles were reversed in the apartment, and Blake was a man and Justin was a woman we would be appalled and we would absolutely call that harassment or at least intimidation.

Because it was Ryan Reynolds and Taylor I guess people are starstruck or something, but I’m sure Justin left that meeting feeling like he completely lost control of his film. It was such an obnoxious move.

I don’t think Blake expected the backlash that she got, her team wasn’t prepared for it, they panicked and then all this ensued.

I’m a progressive woman who worked in employment discrimination law, albeit years ago, and I agree completely. I also think the rabid support for Blake Lively here isn’t all just regular posters checking out Hottest Topics.

lol, “rabid support.” There are like two people in this thread defending Lively — me and some other person whose bottom line is wait til all the facts come out (so really not rabid wtf). And I’ve mostly left because this is turning into a pile on like the Amber Heard thread if two years ago or whatever. (I believed Heard, too, and think Depp is a jerk.). But enjoy your echo chamber.

I was going to post to agree with you but then I realized I'd be accused of sockpuppeting... but will post anyway. To me this is thread is filled with either super anti-Lively people or people who don't seem to be care for Lively but defend her position because they're grossed out by the allegations against Baldoni and the misogynistic things being said here. I don't think I've seen any post at all I would categorize as particularly pro-Lively. Like I don't think a single person in this thread is an actual fan of hers. I'm not, but would be considered one of the "supporters" compared to the hateful comments. And I haven't posted in several days.

This. I believed Amber Heard even though I could see there was some mutual abuse (she fought back) but Blake Lively is no victim.

Is anyone buying Taylor's story that she just happened to stop by at the same time Justin Baldoni was there? I would think that, if you were just stopping by, you would check to see if it was a good time to visit and would not intentionally stop in the middle of a meeting.

My impression of the homes of wealthy, famous people is that this is not weird. It's common for people like this to have meetings at home throughout the day and there is overlap between social visits and business. Most people in this world have assistants and other employees who are around them all the time, especially at home. Having an agent, lawyer, director, producer stop by for a meeting around the same time as a friend might stop by for a social visit doesn't sound surprising to me. I also wouldn't be surprised to find out that Lively asked her to come over early to talk Lively's scene up to Baldoni, but Taylor's version (lol) doesn't strike me as an obvious lie either. I also buy the idea that she just would not care/be involved in something related to Lively's work on the movie -- that's very believable to me.

Stars -- they are not just like us.

Haha, agreed. Reminds me of AD’s tour of Kelly Ripa and Mark C’s house tour: “when we have meetings….”

Just for correlation purposes, I was also an amber heard supporter and am disinclined to believe BL

I am willing to give her some benefit of doubt about things(maybe their goofy relationship dis cross a boundary) but she flat out lied about ao many things. She will need to come back with proof this time.

I am also not letting up on any of the PR agents. They're are all nasty.

Yeah, I am just not believing this tbh. Baldoni supporters on here who supported Amber Heard? When almost the whole site was against Heard in that thread? So some of the most virulent anti-Lively posters in this thread (we are at page 238 and they’re still hanging in) actually believed Amber Heard? Nah I don’t think so.

Note that Baldoni’s PR firm was specifically hired by him to engage in astroturfing, which is an orchestrated campaign disguised as a spontaneous upwelling of public opinion. So while I think some commenters here legit support Baldoni, I think they’ve been influenced by the PR campaign and I think some commenters here might be part of that campaign. Or maybe it’s just misogyny, but the views here don’t comport with regular people I know, in these proportions.

My mother died as a result of domestic violence. I didn’t just have to believe Amber Heard, I just listened to what Johnny Depp admitted. I also believe AH participated in abusive behaviors. It’s not unusual in relationships with domestic violence. There is so much fear, anger and resentment. The claims that BL is making are both difficult to understand or have been refuted.

Yes. I am not sure why that's so unbelievable to you. I think it was very clear Depp abused Heard, though is often the case, she also behaved poorly and played into the abuse, but I overall support her. I have not seen anything remotely as damning from BL and I truly think she thought she could get away with smearing this guy with mostly falsehoods or weird misinterpretations because she's a billionaire and people didn't know who he is (I didn't before this). I think she got cocky and making this a sexual harassment claim is making a mockery of true victims.
