Okay, we've seen one example of another of GOPers pushing for outlawing abortions with NO exceptions. And you cons on this site still want us to believe that if Roe is overturned, it just means some states will outlaw it at 15 weeks? |
It’s a hallmark of abusers to gaslight. |
| There are 26 states that have laws on the books that abortions will be illegal if Roe is overturned. Any GOP suggesting otherwise is simply lying. |
+1 I’m OP and pretty sure that info is on page 1 as well as throughout this thread and they keep lying about it. |
If Trump said he didn't care how many Black and Hispanic babies were aborted, many men and women would be using his words as an example of racism. ..but I think you know that. |
I didn't vote for Trump and also don't toss around just demeaning words like moron as you just did. |
Well for one, babies are not aborted,’white, black, or otherwise. |
No, you’re just falsely accusing people of murdering babies when they’re doing nothing of the sort. Good thing you didn’t call someone a moron, that might cross a line. False accusations of baby killing, that’s cool. |
| It's interesting that the GOP has tried to kill many of their voters in red states with Covid and now wants to kill their female voters with difficult childbirth of potentially disabled or unwanted children. It's like they have a death wish or something. |
Talking about the GOP as a “death cult” was a joke at first, but now it seems like it was a joke that told the truth. |
They believe the talking points from their local friends saying everyone else is overreacting. This is literally the case of the frog in the boiling water and not realizing it. |
This. They use religion as a cloak for their extremism and desire to control half of the population as a means to control all of the population. Because, listen, when you control the bodies, choices, and health of women, you also control their families. When you repress and subjugate one group and deprive them of choices, you signal to everyone else they are next. This is authoritarianism 101. |
The GOP has repeatedly used this approach: behind the scenes create a platform, raise funds and lobby heavily, and vote accordingly - even though the platform is wildly counter to what most Americans want and/or is in their best interests. When word gets out, deny, deny, deny or lie, lie, lie. Just look at social security. Rick Scott and several other republicans are actively trying to take away all safety programs (which, btw, YOU pay for; these are not “entitlements”). And yet McConnell literally denies this is happening despite plenty of evidence including recordings and emails that show just that. |

They know their abusing things are so unpopular that's why they have to lie and do damage control.
People want to believe so badly or if believe people for so long it is hard to switch course and admit that they've been lied to and duped. Easier. Just to pretend like everyone else is overreacting and they are the only sane ones who see the light. He'll be far too late by the time they realize what's happened. These are smart people were talking about, not idiots. Uncle is one of them. He refuses to acknowledge that he's been lied to and hold so strongly to what he wants to believe that you can't even talk to him. |
It's a cynical joke that they call themselves "pro life" - they are pro-death-penalty, they oppose the social safety net and infrastructure that would support moms and kids if they are forced to bring every pregnancy to term, they are pro-war - all they are is pro-pregnancy and pro-control of women. "Pro life" is a lie. They are not "pro life" - they are anti-choice. That is all. |
