Rice and Whitmer pages are semi-protected until 17 and 21 August in 2020.

Any significance?

Warren’s page is protected, too.

I'm glad that Harris has stood her ground and personally I hope she declines a cabinet position if it's offered to her . She'll be more effective and have more influence being a senator than essentially sitting on an ejectable chair which is what cabinet positions are.

Cabinet positions are only ejectable chairs in the Trump administration. Biden's AG is a great opportunity for meaningful reforms without all the congressional bureaucracy, and for publicity. She could be the next Bobby Kennedy. A Nytimes article said she's open to it and it would be smart of her to consider it. I don't know that there's actually bad blood, since they've been fundraising together, though maybe she's the one who will hold a grudge if she's not the VP pick. But I'd also love Sally Yates in the position, and so would Biden if Harris isn't interested.

Cabinet secretaries last an average of three years regardless of administration. Why would Kamala give up a solidly blue senate seat for a cabinet position? Even if it's AG?

Because it's a potentially stronger platform to run in 2024.

Bass as well. I think they were all experiencing too many edit attempts by bad sources.

Kamala should hold out for the Supreme Court pick. She would automatically be in the top five, probably the top three. She has been an AG before.

Shocker : the supreme Court gig isn't of interest to everyone .

It was also discussed ad nauseam months ago that she does not possess the conventional qualifications. If you're going to appoint the first Black woman SC justice, you're going to do it absolutely by the book: SC clerkship, judgeship, experience arguing before the SC, academic publications etc.

Wiki - what a joke!

Protecting pages translates into nothing, and these potential choices will NOT help Biden move ahead.

lol - He's a joke! Only the idiots will select him and his choice of VP who sells her (his?) soul in partnering with him.

Certainly not on the level of Rice or even Bass, but Whitmer has a bit of foreign policy experience, dealing with international trade delegations etc.

Some overexcited posters seem to forget how little fp experience Bill Clinton, George W Bush, and Barack Obama had before coming to the WH.

They made up for it by picking individuals who had decades of foreign policy experience

Semi-protection means nothing:
"If you have a user account, log in first. If you do not yet have an account, you may create one; after 4 days and 10 edits, you will be able to edit semi-protected pages."
The date just means her team has been aggressive about bad edits.

No. Just like there is not much credibility in political pundits talking about Susan Rice prepping a secret service detail.

And Biden does not needs to do that. He and his Sec State will have that covered. Pandemic response and a domestic focus are more important right now.

Not really, the smarter choice will be to remain in the Senate .
