That makes sense. I hope she has good finance people. I don't see this money train lasting with a divorce and Uncommon James won't survive the pandemic. I guess she could do a reality show about dating/life post divorce, but hard to make real money from reality TV (looking at you Spencer and Heidi). |
I can hardly believe Uncommon James has made it this far. Everything sold is so basic, but at premium prices. I wonder if Jay's money has been propping it up this whole time and that's part of the reason he's trying to cut his losses during the pandemic. |
I feel the same way. Just find it baffling. I really wonder if it's all a sham to just support the reality TV show? But they actually opened up physical stores....I just don't know. What you said makes total sense. Otherwise I just don't get it. |
There is no way UJ is making a profit. They are just private labeling random stuff and charging a ridiculous mark-up. |
Fake clothing lines and boutiques is a common idle gold digger hobby. None of them make money. It’s all fake. They bribe celebs & social media influencers to wear their crap, bribe magazines to write about them, fake followers on social media. Hell, most successful fashion lines are one misstep away from financial ruin. |
I definitely can believe all that for her lines. I do wonder if she conned their friends into investing? I just can’t see Jay investing a lot of his money into ger line. I don’t think he’s stupid, but more importantly his business manager probably would have been adamant how bad of an investment it would be. |
+1. I mean she just didn't have the celebrity of someone like Jessica Simpson. So weird that it has gone on this far. |
This is the entire clothing line? ![]() I expected some Altard State type crap but it's not even that. https://uncommonjames.com/collections/apparel |
I didn’t even know she sold “apparel”. I thought it was just jewelry and weird housewares. But she totally has Instagram “merch” 😬 |
She's now claiming she is divorcing him because he's lazy & unmotivated -- a "lazy" retired NFL star ... who hauled in over 100 million dollars!

I am not surprised. This is her shtick on the show as well. |
WOW so when she was a SAHM and he was playing for the NFL she wasn't lazy and unmotivated, but now that he's a SAHD (after retirement from the NFL with millions saved) he is suddenly lazy and unmotivated? She's a real piece of work. |
Still, despite Coronavirus? |
I think the issue is at heart, Kristin is a party girl. When he was playing, she still had exposure to the limelight that she craved when she wanted it. And when he stopped playing, it was still going to be ok because he’d be this famous commentator, like Michael Statham. She’d still have access to the parties and limelight she wanted. Him holing up on the farm and not pursuing broadcasting doesn’t give her the options she wants. And her crap lifestyle brand only offers a smidgen of what he could have given her. I think there’s also a lot of truth the fact that all this time they are now forced to spend together makes them realize they really don’t like each other. It’s like Navy personnel and their wives. Their relationships are good when the men are gone for 6 months a year. Come retirement a lot of those marriages end because it’s totally different to have a marriage with someone day in and day out, versus one you only see every few days or few months. |
A lot of celebrity lines actually make money once you take into account the value added to the person’s visibility via the brand. This gives her something to do on her reality show, something to talk about on talk shows, which in turn ups her appearance fees, etc, etc. Starting a line of something is in the how to make money off of being an influencer/C list celeb playbook; it’s not that the line itself turns a profit in terms of sales. |
