Is insecure Loudoun 07 Dad posting in an 08 thread or is Loudoun just demonstrating what they are good at developing: insecure parents.

It always amazes me how grown adults feel comfortable describing the kids of other adults in this language. Happens all over this board on various threads. This place would be a lot more civil if people would focus on the positives of their clubs and kids instead of using language like “slow Loudoun rejects” to trash other kids and clubs.

^ yes. And as 08s these are 11-year old girls. It’s disgusting.

Be careful who you call rejects. They might be the future game leaders while your DC is a a future washed out athlete flipping burgers.

I noticed that lots of good 2008G teams are great at passing, first touch and overall high possession. But I also noticed that they typically look for a pass rather than doing 1V1 and using individual skill moves to shoot, etc. near the opposing team’s third area of the field.

Do these girls possess great individual skill moves? Is the style of play dictated by their coach stymied their individual dribbling, creativity, take calculated risk near the opposing goal, etc?

This is not only arrogant but ignorant as well. These are 11 year old kids and for all of them their future will be something other than soccer. To even suggest that the future of an 11 year old girl will be in a minimum wage job because of soccer is gross. All these kids are for the most part highly motivated and hard working kids. I don't care what club they play for or what their actual talent may be, they all do their best. And frankly, there is more to this kids than soccer. Many have talents in other areas like art, music or math and science.

That said, it is also very unlikely that any of the kids excel to the potential of professional or WNT either and that is also ok. This doesn't need to be a zero sum game.

Girls in general are loath to be selfish and will tend to pass and look like a good teammate versus shoot and look selfish. Boys have the opposite problem.

Then don’t call any kids “rejects” at 11 years old!

While I agree with what you said, you didn’t answer my question. My question was do these girls have good or great individual skills and able to use it in a real game when they are coached to be passers and distribute the ball?

wow this is deep.
So is there a way to tell a girl or person pretending to be unselfish or she actually is unselfish?

You for sure are watching a different game that is not soccer.

Are you asking about every team in Virginia? There are over a hundred teams in the state. Why don't you be a little more specific

NOTE that the two Elite teams have the same coach and manager … and both played on Sunday within hours of each other! I am impressed!

I need to update my spreadsheet immediately! (:

There are TWO teams, not 3. The concept was that ALL girls would get the opportunity to play some 9 v 9. The higher level group would also play 11 v 11, the lower group would play more 9 v 9. So most of the girls playing 9 v 9 each week are same, but supplemented with a few "guests" from the 11 v 11 group. Some dual rostering and "guesting" happening so to speak. The same group of girls did not play 9 v 9 and then 11 v 11 NPL last week -- can't do that by NPL rules. But the lower group did play the NPL and NCSL games back to back last week. It showed in the second game.

My daughter played at FCV a few years back and passing was definitely the primary area of focus. I think because you can work on individual dribbling and footskills on your own/in outside training more than you can practice passing weight and timing, etc. without teammates. Also FCV (and some other clubs) really do seem to focus on possession. For the most part good, but we did used to joke that they would pass around in the box and not take a shot.... Lower scoring games happen more than breakaways and 1 v 1s. If you had to err on one way vs. the other I think I'd take the passing focus though.

FCV 2007 top team plays DA (there are 3 08 girls on this team)
FCV 2008 top team plays NPL 2007 age group
FCV 2009 top team plays NPL 2008 age group
FCV 2010 top team is playing NPL 2009 age group

So if you have a team in the 2007, 2008 or 2009 NPL age group and are excited that you are "beating FCV"... you are NOT playing their top team

Um, I didn't call kids rejects. I found the very idea to be gross.

Incorrect -- FCV second 2008 "Elite" team plays in the NPL 2008 age group. But you are not wrong re. DA girls and 2008 first team playing 2007.
