Phen Pro. Is it safe?

Good job! Are you tracking or just taking meds?

Good question.

If you aren't tracking every calorie, and drinking 10+ glasses of water, you are not making the most of the time that you have.

Do you really think that a pill that causes you to lose weight could be safe? I can't believe that anyone would risk their health taking this drug. Why not just do Meth?

Such conflation. The medication doesn't make you lose weight. It decreases your appetite and cravings that allow you to reduce food intake. It's all still within your control, you can stop at any time without negative side effects (except feeling hunger and cravings) and you definitely get no 'high' from it. It's not much different than taking medication for depression. Both medications address brain issues, can only be obtained while under the care of a doctor and are legal. If you can't see the difference between that and meth, no one can help you.

I'm the ^^ poster. It's been about 3 weeks since my first visit. I don't know how much weight I've lost - I'm sure nothing impressive - but my shirts definitely fit better! What I really like is that I don't have an appetite - which is different than hunger. I can control hunger, it's appetite that I have a problem with. I feel like I could do this forever! Of 'bad foods', I've only had 1 glass of wine, 1 cupcake (a work celebration) and 1 cookie the last 3 weeks. I just don't crave them! I've been eating healthy and for the first time, I feel like I can really do this!

These are my posts. I just got off the scale at BeLite and have lost 10 lbs! I got SO excited I had to sit for a while to get my heart rate down! So glad i found this thread!

Congrats! If you don't already, start tracking & exercising. Work in your favorite foods so that you don't binge when you no longer take the meds.

I've been on Qsymia for 4 months now and lost 40 lbs. I feel great. I am working out a lot and changed what I eat drastically. But the best news came yesterday after my doctor checked my blood work, which was the whole reason for starting this in the first place. At the start I was 200 lbs, my triglycerides were 370, my HDL was 31 and my LDL was pretty high too (don't remember the number now). Well yesterday my triglycerides were 90, my LDL was 43 and my LDL was normal too. I'm really happy that I'm not only losing weight and feeling great, but clearly getting healthier.

congrats!

I will start Qysimia in a few weeks, I am excited. But, I do think about the long term side effects? do you know of any?

You are only supposed to be on this medication for about six months or so. My doctor did not mention any long term side effects, but I can't imagine they could be any worse than the side affects I was having from being obese.

Why phen pro when not just phentermine?

Also...why qusemia and not just phentermine ?

What is the difference?

The other medication makes the phen last all day.

I may be wrong, but my understanding was that the pro part extends the time the phentermine stays effective before the body gets used to it. I'm now on month 6 and, while not as extreme as in the beginning, it is still very helpful in controlling appetite.

Thanks doc. Do you also lack the willpower to lose weight by eating healthy and exercising?

OMG, seriously go away!!! This is a positive thread with people uplifting each other. If you have nothing positive to contribute, go away.

I am not going to dignify your negativity with a thoughtful response. You could have read the answer to your questions pages ago. No one owes you a damn answer. GO AWAY.

You must be one of those people who think those suffering from depression simply need to 'choose to be happy' and people with anxiety should 'just relax' - get more exercise and eat better. Those who have compulsions should just stop thinking about their object of compulsion. Do I have that right? Difficulty regulating appetite and eating no different than depression and anxiety. For many people, 'willpower' isn't sufficient. Their brains are different and medication helps.

How does the decision someone makes about their personal health impact you? Why do you care?

BTW you should get mediation to help you with your compulsion to post on threads where you have nothing to offer.
