Phen Pro. Is it safe?

Good for you, PP. And good luck! I had read about phentermine for awhile and hesitated way too long over some uneducated fear of taking a miniscule dose of prozac and also because I felt guilty over "taking the easy way out" by using drugs to help my weight loss. Like somehow that would mean I was too lazy to lose weight on my own. But I had tried and tried and failed and each time I failed, I felt worse. All of that was ridiculous and a complete waste of time and mental energy, when I could have been getting myself back to a place where I felt good about myself. Being on phentermine and losing the weight isn't "easy." You still have to make real changes to what/when/how you eat and those are tough habits to break and recreate. That's real work. But the phenpro gives you a fighting chance.

Good luck! please keep us updated on your progress.

I took it years ago--didn't really need to lose much at all but I had been sick and injured and had to stop exercising or even moving much for 6 plus months and gained weight. I completely lost interest in food. like, would go the entire day without eating anything and realize at 8 pm that I should put something in my stomach. I dropped the weight I wanted to in less than 2 months and did not regain it until years later when I had kids/pregnancy weight. But I already had pretty healthy habits and had kicked up exercise once I could. I think it is a decent tool for suppressing appetite but you have to change bad habits too, if you have them.

Does anyone know some place in the nova/md area other than Dr Anchors, where I can get Phen-pro w/o a strict weight guideline? Meaning, I don't have to be very overweight to get it? I just want to lose 15-20 lbs and I fear that a weight loss center will turn me away for not meeting their criteria. I travel all over for work, and I would like to find someone near my work travel routes if possible.

I have a ways to go, but I'm happy. No side effects for me.

Pp, did dropping it for 4 days go ok? Did you feel like you could've had, say, one glass of champagne?

Several on this thread, including me, have gone to BeLite in Fairfax City. I lost 25 pounds, going from 147 to 122. So, just a bit more than you.

Yep. I went up 1 lb on vacation. I really had no issue eating well even without the meds, but I did indulge in drinks.

any updates from those of you using phen-pro? I am starting on August 1 and wondering recommendations for nutrition plan while on it and success for keeping weight off when done! thanks!!!

BeLite gives you a sample plan. They tell you to stick to 1200 calories. I mostly am around that--sometimes I go up to 1400, sometimes I end up under 1200. (I am very obese though, so YMMV--I could probably sustain some significant overage and still lose, but I'm trying to train myself to feel full on less).

Don't overmedicate on the phen--if you don't need the afternoon dose, don't take it. But I would recommend taking all 3 does of the pro part of it. To me that is the magic ingredient.

What happens at the follow up visit when you need a refil? How much does that cost? Another $160 or is it less.

I get jittery with Benadryl and it makes me almost immediately sleepy. I am 5'4" 170 lbs and really want to try this but I worry I'll get jittery. I have never had high BP and am on no medications.

I wonder, it is the pills that help you remove the weight or the appetite suppression they induce?

I'm the ^^ poster. It's been about 3 weeks since my first visit. I don't know how much weight I've lost - I'm sure nothing impressive - but my shirts definitely fit better! What I really like is that I don't have an appetite - which is different than hunger. I can control hunger, it's appetite that I have a problem with. I feel like I could do this forever! Of 'bad foods', I've only had 1 glass of wine, 1 cupcake (a work celebration) and 1 cookie the last 3 weeks. I just don't crave them! I've been eating healthy and for the first time, I feel like I can really do this!

I had a follow up appointment and it was $160, but you get 3 months of pills vs. the 2 months in the first visit.

I'm 1 month in. Went from 160 to 150.
