Are most 29 year olds going crazy with injections and surgeries? Hollywood is a messed up place if that’s true. |
I know that research says that metabolism stays stable, my family must be outliers. My DH has always been a skinny guy, but he eats so much less now in his 50s than when he was in his 20s and 30s. I eat a lot less to maintain a weight similar to what I weighed in my 20s. My DD, who is similar in height and weight to me and in her 20s, eats a lot more than I do. |
+1 !! |

Thank you for posting photos!
I personally think style-wise all the women looked amazing on the red carpet this year - - no misses really. Even Kylie Jenner looked great though a little too exposed at the top. 👀 |
I don't want to repost the whole post, because it's long, but the photos of the actresses from 3-4 years ago make me really sad. So many of them look AWFUL now. Emma Stone looked so much livelier a few years ago. I didn't like her Oscar dress, but at the same time, who else could wear it but a waif?
|
I don't think that dress would have looked good on anyone. |
Sorry, 3-9 years. |
I agree there were fewer misses than usual and even the stuff I didn't like, I don't think was horrible -- just not my thing. The only dress I thought was a true fashion don't was Paltrow's. I also thought Inga Ibsdotter Lilleas' dress was a miss -- trying to be avant garden but it just looks like her dress has a growth that needs to be checked out:

Phoebe Tonkin in old Dior (John Galliano years)... we need to bring back real silk instead of using this cheap viscose crap. |
I get the vibe of the dress -- it's got a Jane Austen heroine vibe and the fabric looked kind of magical. I just think it looked unnecessarily uncomfortable to wear and needed something more to make it work -- more jewelry, a more defined hairstyle, something. You could also tell they had to tape it to her shoulders and chest to keep it in place and it made her look so stiff and uncomfortable -- why do such a low scoop neck and back if that's how she's going to have to wear it? A shallower scoop that would have allowed her to wear it more naturally would have been prettier and more practical. It wound up feeling like a costume that needed movie magic to make work and that's not what fashion is supposed to be. These are clothes. You should be able to wear them without special tricks. |
No idea who this is but I do love the color. What celeb is wearing viscose on the Oscar red carpet?!?! |
I mean, she is tiny -- that's her husband, Marc Consuelos, who is also tiny. It think Kelly and Marc have shared orthorexia (they exercise together a lot and I think knowing the other is also very small pushes them to keep at it because neither wants to be the "big" one of the partner when they are photographed together. I'm sure they also have a chef/nutritionist who keeps their house free of sugar or any fat except like lean salmon or any processed foods. I think it being a joint endeavor likely makes the obsession worse and helps with the "discipline" it takes to be that small in their mid-50s. |
+1 and adding that dress was custom. |
This is REALLY pretty. Love the color. |
It looks like something Carrie fisher wore in Star Wars. |
