Who is that?

Donatella Versace.

Italian aging?

The constant suntanning and cigs kind, yes.

Just wow. She's so hard looking, even with surgery. Sophia L and Gina L are who've always come to mind for me as representative of beautiful older Italian women.

It’s th surgery and fillers. I don’t know why but that surgery all those rich old ladies gets is very masculinizing. She looks like a drag queen.
I do like the dress color though.

I hate this. I don't think the gold suits her and I hate the neckband and wristbands.

Agree. It's so matronly. The phrase, a "handsome woman" comes to mind.

She’s 76 so maybe she felt anxious about not dressing mutton as lamb. But I agree it could have been a little less…buttoned up. Either a more open neckline or more open sleeves. I like the color on her though and I think the silhouette is also in keeping with her general style. I think she looks 10 years younger than her age, at least!

Kathy Bates is 77 and looks MUCH better in this dress - also age appropriate, but more feminine and just plain prettier than Sigourney's dress.

This is lovely but she was the only one in the Reiners memorial segment who wasn’t wearing black which I didn’t love.

OMG.

Sorry, but if I were the only person on stage sticking out like this I would be mortified. This was custom and could have been done in a darker color.

That wasn’t the point of the whole night. I’m more worried about the brown shoes

Worried? Some of you are idiots.

This was a tribute to Rob Reiner featuring actors and entertainers who had worked closely with him. I do not actually think they were directed to wear black, and I think the effect was partly an accident due to most of the group being men. There are 11 men on stage and 6 women -- the men are all wearing black tuxedos, which is standard at the Oscars.

The women are all older. Older women tend to gravitate towards dark colors for the red carpet, because it's slimming and also a safer choice, and they aren't as interested in taking fashion risks. Annette Bening, wears a black tuxedo for like 70% of her red carpet appearances at this point -- it was probably from her own closet. Meg Ryan wears black on the red carpet most of the time these days -- last year she wore a very dark red velvet that also would have looked appropriate here. Demi's dress was clearly custom and it wasn't black, it was green. Carol Kane is 73 and dngaf anymore -- she probably would have worn that exact same outfit even if she had been doing a comedic reprisal of her Princess Bride character. I don't know who the woman on the end holding onto John Cusack is.

Kathy wore a dress she liked and felt good in. Kathy spent most of her career dressing in somewhat frumpy clothing on the red carpet because of her weight and the lack of options for a woman with her body type. She is slim and clearly feeling good about her body for the first time in decades, plus has a network show. She wore what she felt good in and I'm betting her friends Rob and Michele would have wanted her to.

Y'all need to get over yourselves. You will find something to criticize no matter what. This was a sweet tribute to a well respected director who most of the people on the stage called a friend. Leave them a lone! JFC.

The woman on the end holding onto John Cusack is Daphne Zuniga, his co-star in The Sure Thing, directed by Rob Reiner.

But why did Reiner deserve more of a memoriam more than any other person who died this year? Did they include Gene Hackman?

With the exception of a few well known directors they should only include the movie stars. No one knows any of the cinematographers, agents (REALLY?), or any behind the scenes people. Include them in your web version of memoriam.

He was brutally murdered by his son, he did not die in old age of natural causes.

Gene Hackman was included in the Oscar Memoriam segment in 2025. He died so early in 2025 he was able to be included last year.

I don’t think the method of death should affect the memoriam but Reiner was a huge giant — an actor, director and producer whose work spanned decades and genres and was instrumental in the growth of so many other careers. Had to think of anyone else with as much impact other than Ron Howard, or Robert Redford.

I mean she has always been a bit unconventional looking and a mash up of a lot of different face surgeries so I think she looks fine. Her dress is stunning and her body looks stolen from someone much younger. OMG I just googled her and she is 70.

+1

And love that she and Kathy Bates wore colors that look beautiful on them, versus “safer” ones.

No, that's not an attractive face, regardless of age. She looks like a mannequin.
