Also when Americans are personally affected by the indiscriminate slashing of government offices, stock market crashes, unemployment is high and the services that helped unemployed people get through it will be long gone.

We are heading towards this.

Alternatively, tariffs will reduce consumer spending, which will lead to less inflation and cause the Fed to lower interest rates by more basis points than was previously thought, which will cause stocks to rise and housing to become more affordable.

I thought what people wanted was jobs to come back home, lower inflation, and affordable housing?

Dear god, do you believe this? Have you heard of deflation? Stagflation? I bet you also believe in trickle down economics.

The inflation numbers yesterday were positive. Egg prices are down from $9 a dozen in early March to $6 now. Toll Brothers announced they’re dropping prices for new homes. The government is laying people off and some private companies are following their lead.

All of these factors (lower costs, lower housing prices, a looser labor market) are what the Fed wants to see before they lower interest rates. Lower interest rates will make the stock market rise. I’m not revealing secrets here. Jerome Powell has said as much about when the Fed will lower rates and its no secret lower interest rates contributed to the stock market boom post 2009.

Egg prices were not $9 in March. Why do MAGA simply lie, lie, lie all the time?

One month later…

Trump and Vance will be impeached in two years. This is what the Dems should run on.

Impeached based on what exactly? Bad poll numbers?

Get a grip.

Unconstitutional activities

But I don't think the Rs have the guts or love for America anymore. But hey, MAGA, right?

They won't control Congress forever.

Why only 10% jump?. It's a complete dumpster fire. I'm surprised I can find anyone that approves.

Yep. Trump by 2028 will be as unpopular or even more unpopular than he was in 2020 and Biden was in 2024. If the GOP is stupid enough to nominate someone associated with Trump in 2028, their candidate will be as weak as Trump 2020 and Biden 2024 which will make for an easy Dem victory in the 2028 POTUS election. History repeating itself.

Over on the MAGA side of the news this week

-I watched a video on FoxNews today about how the economy is totally fine and we won't have a recession.
-I watched a separate video on instagram that my MAGA brother liked, in which they explained that Canada and Mexico will fold to US tariffs because of the percent of their GDP that is spent on US exports, and Trump knows this so he knows that the US will win and bring back US jobs.

This is their news, they believe everything is as it should be in Trump's supposed game of 4D Chess.

Trump lost US jobs last time. Why would it be any different this time? And clearly we are on track to see high levels of unemployment.

I know. I know. They are in a bubble. It’s still so incomprehensible.

Well, he likes to win. He’s winning the unpopularity contest.

You’re assuming that with the weaponization of the FBI and DOJ that we will have free and fair elections in 2028. A lot of damage can be done to potential candidates and voting rights when people don’t agree to follow the law.

Yes, it's safe to assume there will be free and fair elections in 2028 and anyone associated with Trump during the 2028 election cycle will be destroyed. This is called "history repeating it self".

Then you have a lot more faith in American institutions and that the USA won’t follow a path to authoritarianism than I do. I hope you’re right but I fear by 2028 there will be little to vote on.

There’s no chance of free and fair elections in 2026 or 2028.

That's a great outlook, Boris. Too bad no one is listening to your MAGA malarkey.

It’s not MAGA malarkey. It’s democrats with a knowledge of global history who have seen democracies fall as authoritarian leaders gut the civil service, restrict freedom of the press and weaponize law enforcement against citizens. You can ostrich all you want but some of us are paying attention.

I don’t think they lack critical thinking. I think they have a very different view of the world. There is a small percentage of men that think of the good of society. Most men have a dog-eat-dog/zero sum game view of society. They’re out to get theirs and don’t care about others. They are Ayn Rand devotees that are self obsessed and not interested in the well being of others (would often include their own wives and offspring).
