Trump will be infamous and will forever be the formentor of an insurrection in our history books.

I’m looking forward to everyone claiming they never supported him.

He's a symptom. I don't know how we go back to a more civil society.

Exactly.

I think we are on the verge. If Trump loses in November, MAGA won’t be a thing any more. I really think this is losing steam, bigly.

Social Media still profits by dividing us.

But Trump fading away will be good for the world. No question.

It’s weird; they oversample Republican viewpoints in literally everything. When the media was talking about Biden all the time, they also only spoke to Republicans.

Frankly they should have gotten some Democratic viewpoints. They would have been far harsher on him than the GOPpers quoted in the article.

+1 We really need him to be an anomaly.

Does JD Vance have a chance in 2028? No one seems to like anything about him.

He will have less chance in 2028 than Pence had in 2024. He's less liked than Pence and he hasn't even been elected as VP.

Yeah but for all the MAGA delusion about the competitive GOP primaries, they really weren’t. Trump didn’t show up at any of the debates and, except for Christie, all the candidates spent their time talking about how wonderful Trump was. Trump is simply incapable of dealing with reality and it shows. He’s an embarrassment.

It will still be there. A different name and a different face. More palatable.

I'd love to gleefully predict the trouncing of Trump at the ballot box in November...

... but can we do that later? Because right now the polls are still very close. Anything can still happen.

I know it feels as if Harris and co have the wind in their sails, but let's not get carried away.

Agree. It feels so promising right now. It’s hard not to be giddy with relief, but it’s too soon.

Thank you. They are very, very close.

On my way home in Alexandria I did not see a single Trump sign. Therefore, he will lose.

We can close the thread now.

Make it make sense.

Once it becomes clear that Trump is going to lose the media is going to bury him. They have been holding back so much in order to maintain access, but who needs access to a big loser? Once it turns, a lot of rats will jump ship to try to save themselves.

They made him and he puts them down every chance and they lap it up. What are they waiting for?

This is hysterical. Trump campaign is in a free fall and they’re more concerned with bullying supporters into pretending everything is fine.
