Trump campaign death spiral

I absolutely abhor Trump and am so excited about how things have turned the past couple weeks.

But I am also blue no matter who and this sentiment is incredibly similar to what was being said on "our side" up until a couple weeks ago... and to some extent even now... I've seen people say "I'm out" if Shapiro is the Veep candidate and the response is 100% exactly the same as the above.

That is exactly my point. Up until Biden dropped out, people on our side were saying things like that - and it betrayed weakness in our side. You shouldn't have to harangue people to vote for your candidate.

It's my chief reservation with Shapiro being the VP pick - is that after this incredible excitement and unity of the last, what, week and a half? We're going to end up back in that "don't be an idiot, of course you have to vote blue" thing instead of the "we're EXCITED to vote blue" thing.

Good point.

“Absolute, demonic madness”? I truly marvel at the GOP’s weird take on things. No wonder they have Trump as their leader.

His numbers are better than Kamala's state by state.

This! The guy is a loser by all measures yet half of the country will still vote for him, a significant portion of them even idolize him. Says a lot about our country that it’s this close to begin with.

If you read the transcript or watch the back half of it, Biden pretty much owned Trump, but by then it was way too late, the narrative had already been written.

Trump was truly awful.

When he loses, he is right when he said you don’t have to vote again - for him. I hope he enjoys his retirement in PB, and be the best pawpaw.

+1 I'm glad there's more excitement now on the Dem side but it makes me so sad that after everything still nearly half of voters says yeah we want more Trump. Seriously???? I used to disagree with Republicans but could at least understand where they were coming from. Now, I just can't at all.

I hate to be that guy but the polls haven’t really capture where voters are for a while, at least not since Roe. The “red wave” that wasn’t was before that and between the polls and the way that the media spent six months hyping the red wave that wasn’t and then Biden did better at the midterms than any president for fifty years… work like we’re five points behind, yes, but I don’t think the polls are capturing where we are.

Then again the polls aren’t going to reflect the GOP’s registered voter purge either, so maybe they’re closer to accurate.

Yes, too late for him to be replaced. All the GOP needed to do was to run a normal, average candidate to win the 2024 election and now they deserve to go down in flames with Trump due to their foolish insistence on nominating him again.

A lot of them aren’t really saying we want more Trump, they just want less progressive policy. I recently watched an interview with a Harris about equity and it honestly sounded quite socialist. Not a huge fan of that.

I am the PP and I totally agree.

Trump wasn't on the ballot in 2022.

Check the sampling on the polls. If you sample 400 democrats and 300 republicans, of course your numbers will be skewed.

You believe that? You saw his take right after he was shot. It was not 139M.

Then his campaign is misreporting it? Not sure what your angle is.
