How about the guys in the grey vehicle rampaging up and down Connecticut? How about the Wegmans armed robbers? Id like followup. I get crime alerts (which are terrifying). I think they do publicize arrests, but the fact is, there aren't any.

At least one person was arrested for Wegman's armed robbery the same day (adult). They were tracked by helicopter.

That's too expensive. Sell it.

I saw the one Twitter post that said the people who fled the vehicle tracked by the helicopter "might be". No follow up. Where do you have this from?

There were photos on Twitter on 12/31 of the arrest of one of the men from Wegmans armed robbery in a front yard, they were tracked by helicopter. If you go back you can probably find it on one of the Twitter crime accounts. You could also look at MPD press releases re: arrests for that day 12/31 and even search the name from press release on DC Sup Court site to see if he was charged.

Sell the helicopter? Why would they do that?

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Carjacking Task Force announce the arrest of a preteen involved in a robbery and assault in Northwest, DC.

On Thursday, September 21, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the first victim was standing next to his electric bicycle in the 1300 block of Irving Street, Northwest, when five suspects approached him from behind and attacked him. The suspects then took the first victim’s electric bicycle and attempted to flee.

The first victim yelled for help, and the second victim, who was parking his vehicle nearby, left his vehicle running to come to the first victim’s aid. One of the suspects then jumped in the second victim’s vehicle, and the four other suspects surrounded the second victim and began to assault him. The suspects took the second victim’s car keys, and all five suspects fled with the second victim’s vehicle."

Lovely.

If it's this guy, searching "Tayon Brown" in DC Sup Court does not show a charge.

That is not all that unusual. The USAO no papers the majority of cases. Unfortunate and obviously contributes to the rising crime.

Those addresses are not Wegmans, he's another thief/criminal.

There is this article re: Wegman's robbery and a reference to being brought into custody but not named. If anyone wants to search MPD press releases, this is the address of the crime.

Any arrests re: the topic of the thread, the auto theft and kidnapping?

Is that in compliance with the MPD pursuit policy?

The pursuit policy only applies to vehicle pursuits, not helicopter tracking. Also vehicle pursuits are still allowed where the person committed a violent crime, but I can’t tell you whether robbery or carjacking count (they really should)
