MOCO BOE update: Beidleman Report summary

Nothing at all will happen with the BOE by the way.

The same people elected by the blind loyalty to the apple ballot- who approve MCEA contracts, and promotions and work lockstep with them- will face absolutely no consequences at all at the ballot box. Business as usual.

Agreed. The voters never learn.

No, the voters have limited choices. When given a decent choice, they actually did go with the non apple ballot candidate - Lynne Harris. She hasn't fixed things. The crazies are not going to fix things either.

Shes been acting or full superintendent for years. Biedleman may have started under Starr, but it certainly continued under her leadership, and he was definitely promoted mere months ago.

It makes Elrich sound uninformed. The promotion happened solely on her watch. The complaints about Biedelman were received after she became the permanent superintendent. She owns this.

Source? That's disgraceful.

"He said he didn’t blame McKnight for the processes failing, because this was a problem that she inherited. He added that the school board members needed to be more forthcoming about the report and its findings.

“I frankly don’t think these questions are too hard to answer. Nobody’s asking anybody to opine on whether someone’s guilty,” Elrich said. But he thought members should “express some kind of concern” publicly."

These were Elrich's words in context at the media briefing:
"The teachers who spoke to the media and forced this investigation to actually happen told reporters that they made these complaints to no avail to MCPS. This is not the first instance of reporting possible troubling behavior. The union had provided a number of complaints about more than one staff member previously, which also never got dealt with. Our current superintendent, Dr. McKnight , did not create this problem. I want to be clear about that. It's always convenient to, you know, blame the person who sits there, but this isn't the problem she created, she's inherited it, and I hope that she'll institute the consequences for the people who ignored the seriousness of the problems we're dealing with as well as implement the changes that are going to be necessary so that nobody has to go through this again."

Sickening. These people are all buddies, they all owe each other favors and protect each other.

I know I am late to the game here but this situation has really fundamentally altered my perception of Montgomery County and MCPS. Our leaders are psychopathic. What I don't understand is what drives them to protect predators and the people who allow them to stay in their jobs? What is their motivation?

Mcps isn’t different from any other organization where leaders are constantly attacked and set up to fail. They also know teachers are disgruntled.

If you get paid the big bucks you should have a thick skin.

McKnight hasn't managed this well. I would not feel safe working under her. Her contract should be terminated.

I know! McKnight fixing things is the only silver lining to this mess.
