Did he support McKnight? Because she's just awful and I can't see why they spent so much money looking for people for the job and ended up with her. ugh
Joftus is perfect for the BOE because he and his wife have readymade lies to spew while they suck money away from MCPS. Classic is claiming that you have been evaluated every year when you've never been evaluated and MCPS only took a head count for two years.
To be honest, with all the drama about Joftus and his family with KID Museum, I personally do not think he would be a good choice for BOE.

Great news for fraud, waste and abuse of MCPS Operating Budget! Many, many vendors ready to siphon off MCPS $$$ thank you! Especially the vendors that are embezzling cash like the diesel bus company in Annapolis. You've made their world a happier place.

I totally believe Leader in Me is worth 1.8M... yup...
And the best part was it all was mostly Federal Covid grant money to keep the kids and teachers safe!

After he was selected he went through the required conflict of interest vetting and passed with the condition that he recuse himself from votes relating to Kid Museum. Which he has.

It’s so clearly counterfactual that it’s really slander. I am tempted to flag this for the moderator and ask him to lock the thread, but that will probably make the poster come back on another thread even more deranged, so I hesitate.

DP. There isn't 'one deranged anti-Joftus poster.' I've posted a while ago that I think it's awful for Joftus's wife's organization to receive a large amount of $ from the school budget. Whether or not he disclosed his conflict of interest (and it's not clear to me that he did), it's still not acceptable for this spending to pass during his school board membership, because the 'Kid museum' is not an essential service nor one that is freely available to the county students widely. Nor have I seen evidence that demonstrates its beneficial impact to MCPS vs other ways MCPS could spend those funds.
He should know better, be more attuned to public perception, etc. So the other anti-Joftus poster isn't me, and I'm not deranged.
Now there *does* seem to be, OTOH, one very persistent pro-Joftus booster, that keeps insisting that "the kid museum is amazing!" and so forth. And the above poster who feels this thread is worthy of being flagged and locked seems somewhat threatened.
I wouldn't say that Yang has it in the bag, because not all voters research stuff, so who knows. I plan to vote for her, and I hope people will, too.

Completely disagree. I reported my experience with her earlier. She said negative things about Joftus that weren't true, then back pedaled and hedged when I called her out. I was genuinely interested in her, but tgat negativity plus her pusky aggressive behavior was really unappealing.
Esther Wells doesn't even understand how the school calendar works. She's currently upset that schools are closed for election day because MCPS should be "prioritizing in-person learning" (her words). I think everyone with a functioning brain understands the basics- schools have to be in session for 180 days, the district chooses days off within the school year once the 180 days is met. No one is missing out on in-person learning more than if this was a random day off in May. Schools are being used for voting purposes..it's a safety risk. It's one of the smartest days off MCPS chose to take off this year. She really is not a smart individual.
