Just posting a statement like that doesn't make it remotely true. I'd disregard it without context.

I already sent in my ballot but I'd be sad to know she opposed gifted education. If anything the county needs to double its capacity in these programs. This would also reduce the transportation costs since busing would be over shorter distances.

They also need to get the boundary study done to help reduce unnecessary busing so spending is focused on providing teachers.

I would take that PP with a grain of salt- I did a quick search and didn’t find any comments from Coll about that. I’d also want to know what context of such a comment if it was said- there’s a difference between opposing gifted/talented programs outright vs. wanting to expand enrichment options at home schools, for example.

I did the same thing and found nothing.

The BOE did a horrible job keeping schools closed for 18 months for most students, there’s been a lack of resources at the school level to address the pandemic learning loss, there’s been no plan to address the shortages for in school and substitute positions, and the BOE gave a contract to a Superintendent that had two votes of no confidence by the union members underneath her.

My kid missed 3 months in 2019-20 and 7 months in 2020-21 before going biweekly hybrid for a couple more. How does that add up to 18 months?

It doesn't and the rogues running love to claim it's been two full years. Anyone that can do math, see people need basic human rights (fryar is against this but he sure does love guns), and know Dawn lies to get whatever she needs to will not vote for them.

Dawn also has some insane sycophants.. "People are elsewhere to live..." then move, Kara. You've said this for two years. I'm glad being Dawn's treasurer made you feel special. She also is so desperate on every single post. You're sponsored by right wing nutjob Bethany Mandel who you claim you've never met, but you still moderate her group...she still supports you. You didn't need to know someone to know their support isn't favorable. Do you understand that? What about your own own social media accounts since you love to bash teachers for theirs? It would resemble you need some serious help.

Kara is definitely "special." Her reply to Biden is: Absolutely false. The pandemic didn’t do this. You did.....Well he wasn't the president until 2021...I don't even like Biden and this obviously wasn't his fault.

That reopening group is full of such idiots who do nothing but pat each other's backs. As a parent, they are the absolute stain on the history of MoCo and I'm always embarrassed to be a parent here because I want nothing to do with them.

Kara wants me to vote education..okay, I'll definitely vote for anyone not on that moronic slate. Thanks for the tip!

Who is Kara?

Is Kara the new name we are using for Karen? Because otherwise I don’t know WTF these people are taking about either!

Might want to pay attention to the people who constantly testify at school board meetings.

I don't have the bandwidth to remember the names of random people that testify at board meetings. I only remember the Dawn lady because she's running for BOE, otherwise I'd probably just recall her as a nameless crazy lady. But ok, this Kara person testified at some meetings, got it.

Trust me, I don't want to know who these crazy people are, but they directly affect my job and my livelihood. Kara is the treasurer for that slate. (Fryar-anti-women/pro-gun..Dawn-enough said...not sure about Esther but the fact she aligns herself with those two is more than enough info I need)

NP here. I'm not saying it adds up to 18 months, but I will say this.... the 2020-2021 school year was less than 20 days on in-person learning for my DC.

The hybrid schedule was horrendous for my DC. I'm glad your kids had it better. I actually entered the dates in my Google calendar because it was so confusing on when DC would be in the building vs. not. Here goes:

One week, every other week, starting the last week of April (based on DC's grade in their HS); DC had 4 weeks in-person learning, which was maxed out at 4 days a week. Even though DC was in school, one teacher was at home, so that class was still 100% distance learning. One of the weeks was only 3 days due to graduation, so the kids had Wednesday off and the graduation day was another "asynchronous learning" day. This schedule totals 19 days in the building.

So as a parent...you had to input a calendar due to a global pandemic...I can't imagine your hardship.

I know your goal was to be condescending, but here is the reality: I couldn't just magically figure out which were going to be A weeks or B weeks without putting a note on my calendar. The school said "these are the A/B weeks and if you're A-K, you're in A week and if you're L-Z you're in B week." So I took the appropriate weeks and marked them "Kids In school". Since we also had to do the attestations on Sunday night, this gave me a reminder to do the attestations. It was literally 4 weeks to note on the calendar, so it took 2 minutes.

Moderately MoCo put together a great ballot which makes recommendations for a bunch of races including BOE, vetting candidates who are not incumbents and not Apple ballot. Incumbents and Apple Ballot got us where we are. Time for a change.

They just endorsed "the slate" of Dawn and her pals. No, thank you.

Say no to the apple ballot.
It's not even based on teacher feedback or votes! It's created by a select group of union members. No thanks.

Apple Ballot is always the way to vote!

You do realize that the Apple Ballot is what put all these clowns in place in the first place, right? At least take some time to do your own research to make sure your own objectives are in line with those of the teacher's unions. If so, then fine, but voting blindly like you describe just makes you a pawn in the process.

As for me, I find the Apple Ballot very useful as well. It typically tells me who NOT to vote for.

Thank you. Just googled this - only read a few of the responses so far, but it is helpful.

Oh yes, the Applet ballot is awesome! I vote for their picks and don't have to give it a second thought.

This is a good time for new leadership and send the incumbents to retirement.

Moreover, based on the threads on the forum, it looks like they spent money on PR and other unnecessary Legal costs just to deny resources to needy children
