Is there any way to at least get her off the Presidency? How is the President of the BoE elected?

I do think it’s interesting that Joftus was resounded beaten but Wolff still got a lot of support. I thought everyone was sick of the incumbents. The fact that she was in a position of leadership and showed a remarkable lack of leadership skills is especially jarring.

Brenda isn't perfect, but I would take her over Valerie any day. Valerie is beholden to MCEA. She is on some committee there.

Why is that a bad thing? The union should have a seat at the table since this should be a partnership not board vs the teachers.

Nope. The union has enough representation with all of the seats they buy.

Brenda Wolff has her seat because of the Apple Ballot. That's how she got elected in the first place. She's just as much Apple Ballot as Coll, even more because Wolff came from the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee leadership.

Like I said, Brenda is the lesser of two evils. Coll wants mandatory masking and is 100% behind union pushes. The union is the main reason schools took so long to open in 2020.

Coll sounds awesome! Hope she somehow manages to pull it out! A board member who actually cares about teachers and students would be great.

Lol you sound like one of the morons who doesn’t know how unions work. “I support all teachers. I have so many teacher friends! Don’t accuse me of hating teachers!” Same person: the union is disgusting! Everything run on the entire planet is because of mcea!!!! I’ll vote for Putin before I vote for a union member!

Who… who do you think the union is made up of? Scary, bad men?? Hint: it’s teachers. Teachers you supposedly support and don’t disparage. It’s made up of all your so-called teacher friends.

It’s made up of teachers who are forced to pay dues and then silenced by union leadership if they try to express differing opinions. Told to me by a former teacher who was only willing to talk because she quit and is confident that her new career is going to work out and she won’t need to go back.

Nice try, but teachers dont HAVE to be part of the union. Your former teacher informant willingly paid these dues and therefore, should have used their voice because they CHOSE to be a member of the union.

Brenda Wolff voted to keep schools closed for a year. Definitely not the lesser of two evils.

She only cares about teachers. She is on that God awful PAGES group that rallied teachers to keep schools closed in 2020.

But she saw the light while Coll and the crazies on PAGES tried to keep schools closed. I saw her posts...she is a nut.

When did she exactly see the light? When schools were closed over a year and students only received instruction 4 out of 5 days during the wee? Students are still trying to catch up for the learning loss that occurred during her Board leadership.

Would someone help me make sense of this?
Requested Mail-In was 143K
Returned: 112K (still awaiting another 21K, but likely many won't be received because the voter didn't mail them.)
Mail-in "scanned as returned" (73K) means... that board of elections has scanned the barcode. So there is another 50K (ish) that still needs the barcode scanned?

Then, what about the second block...
Canvassed MI. 50K? This is the ballots that have been "counted." ??
Scanned & tabulated: 23K
Remaining to be scanned.... 27K. These have been "counted" but not scanned?

Is there a step left out between "scanned as returned" and "canvassed"? Is that "not yet canvassed"?

She voted along with the rest of the board to open schools, and eventually to drop mask mandate. In the meantime, Coll and the other crazies were trying to devise ways to keep schools closed and then masks required. So, yes, she saw the light. Coll still wants masks.

She’s also super old, we don’t need BOE members in their 70s.

NP - The BOE should be representing taxpayers (and yes, I know teachers are taxpayers) and the community in holding the system accountable. The union doesn't need even more influence.

Because the Apple Ballot backed her.
