Fairfax homicide last night

3 days prior to gun range review I think, Danehower posted "meaningful" highlighted passages on Instagram that don't appear to really be meaningful. Beautiful Minds anyone? Plus, he added a comment that was sort of finance thought salad. I suspect he was delusional

Flight attendants that come thru have told me how things are worse than what you see on the news. I no longer greet customers because they snap at you when you ask them if they need help so I let them come to me and ask for help. Be careful who you let into your life, and pray to the Creator for protection at all times.

+1000. I've noticed a major shift too, and it's scary. The shift is the primary reason I stopped catching the train to work. There are tons of unstable people on Metro, and it's completely unsafe.

Perp also has a mutual friend on Insta who liked his activism at Tysons II...the liker is a mutual with the victim who retweeted the original murder tweet, meaning 2 degrees of separation maximum between vic and perp, so this is likely a subcultural exposure, Young Life or some kind of charity exposure.

There has been zero official speculation about Gret or Heather, which is why it feels unkind and ungenerous to paint the situation as domestic violence or some torrid affair. People and religion may be complex with their politics, but the simplicity of humanity is that we are good. THAT is a big part why the out of nowhere speculations that this was an affair gone wrong reek of misogyny.

Hmmm. Most people wouldn’t use their first names so casually. You must know them.

What is Young Life?

What is Young Life?

It's a religious organization (christian) for high school youth. Kind of like a church youth group except it's typically held at individual schools.

Any idea on the motive?

Investigators said they knew each other through church.

Has everyone in this thread saying it was targeted already forgotten the random home invasion murder in Leesburg last year where the tech CEO was stabbed to death in his bed?

That’s likely when the obsessing and anger kicked in. I don’t think victim did anything wrong, just got into the crosshairs of a mentally ill person with a gun. The question is whether the shooter was diagnosed and if any laws could have prevented this. I don’t think so. If there’s no formal diagnosis, any proposed law wouldn’t have stopped this. This is why preventing mentally I’ll from purchasing firearms is difficult. Most are likely undiagnosed even if the average person can see it.

You know nothing about this family or the perpetrator and are wildly speculating.

What tipped you off? When I said, “my guess is”.

And what are you accomplishing by speculating on crap you know nothing about?

They’re having a conversation. Pop a Xanax.

I’m here to laugh at you that you have such delusions of grandeur that you think anyone gives a rat’s behind if some internet nobody “castigates” them.

Based on the facts we knew prior to the arrest, the most likely scenarios were spouse or some sort of targeted attack

This wasn’t random. He knew his attacker. The attacker may be nuts, but he picked his victim for whatever his twisted reason.

Random home invasion and murder is incredibly rare. It does happen, but is still a very small percentage.
