Another favorite scene was when Anthony was telling Gregory about their father. I loved that.

Did anyone catch how Anthony’s mother slipped and actually called him “An-th-ony”? Normally she calls him “An-t-ony” without the th combo.

Agree. The small random attempts to slide in “Indian cultural norms” was utterly bizarre, distracting and completely unwarranted. These books are about the English regency not Indian culture.

uh... I don't know if you've been paying attention, but English regency also didn't have POC in the ton, let alone a black queen. You guys are missing the thread of mondernity and diversity in the series.

The diversity of actors is great. No reason not to have people if different skin tones, hair, facial features, etc… playing all roles. That doesn’t mean you need to change the basis of the story - the ton in regency England - to include various ethnicities. Open up the acting roles but don’t change the whole story!!

+1 The book plot is so much better than the series plot. I think opening it up to various ethnicities is great. Those are two separate issues. And the plot changes had nothing to do with making it more suited to different ethnicities.

I disagree. The bee thing in the book was so cringey! None of the other plots were in the book at all. Not very much happens in the boo at all. They flirt, they get forced to get married. They have basically one conversation about trauma and they're magically fixed.

The book plot is stupid and repetitive. They’re forced to get married, how original. The same basic plot as season one. And he tried to suck bee venom out of her? What the hell? I’m so glad they scrapped that.

The books, and I read a few of them, are a passable enough lark, but they aren’t very good. Bring on the changes.
