All the polls were wrong the last the few years of elections? I have no doubt D's will win. |
I, a DC resident who has voted blue since 2000 and will never vote for or support a republican again in my life, just received a text appeal from the Youngking campaign for money.
Oh, hell no. Talk about desperation. |
You realize that, if this is true, it proves the exact opposite of what you’re hoping is happening right? Apparently many blue voters in DC have been giving money to Youngkin’s campaign. Or you wouldn’t have received a solicitation. Me thinks you’re gonna lose on this one. |
Are you even in Alexandria? The "historic flooding" was just the first block of OT from the water, so between Union and Lee, especially during high tide. It was historic in that it was higher or as high as Isabel (so below your knees) but there wasn't widespread flooding or even really any issues. Everyone knew it was coming, the businesses closed, sandbags procured, etc. I just drove down there an hour ago, it's totally fine today. The flooding in Del Ray in August was much worse. So there is zero chance that Friday's "historic tidal flooding" would prevent people from coming into OT, unless they wanted to walk along the harbor. Stop using this as the reason it was cancelled. Maybe it was because the event was supposed to be outside, couldn't they have moved it inside? But the forecast said for days it was going to rain like that and that Union to the water would flood, that's it. |
Well I’m a former DC resident who left for VA. I’m ride or die with Youngkin. Having lived under one party rule in DC, no thanks!!! |
Just saw a Youngkin ad that got me thinking. Youngkin is campaigning on cutting all kinds of taxes, but also claims he’s going to massively increase education funding. What funding is he planning to cut in order to pay for increased education funding while also slashing state tax revenues? I can’t find any explanation from the Youngkin campaign of how that math is supposed to work. |
That sounds like socialism. |
So you are ready to pay more taxes, more inflation, lower the standards of education, make the government bigger by voting for T Mac? That sounds like to believe in leftist ideology. |
Pretty much. High taxes, horrid schools, cars stolen off my street, 9 month waits for permits to do basic home repairs, rude government officials . . . And on and on. Already thrilled at being a new Virginia resident and will be even more thrilled if Youngkin can, by some miracle, win. |
I’ll take that as a concession that you can’t make Youngkin’s math work either. Hint: if the math doesn’t work, he’s not going to do the things he claims he will. |
Terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad reviews of the McAuliffe/Lincoln Project stunt.
Lis Smith, a former senior advisor to Democratic primary candidate Pete Buttigieg tweeted: "What a massive, massive screw up. The last thing that the McAuliffe campaign needed this weekend. A total disservice to the hundreds of hard-working staffers on the ground." Meanwhile, Mark Rozell, dean of the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University, told The Washington Post: "The overreach backfires because it is so ridiculous in its execution it hurts the point they're trying to make." Virginia legislator Sally Hudson tweeted: "Charlottesville is not a prop. Our community is still reeling from years of trauma—especially this week. Don't come back, @ProjectLincoln. Your stunts aren't welcome here." https://www.newsweek.com/terry-mcauliffe-glenn-youngkin-lincoln-project-virginia-governor-charlottesville-1644180 |
When are people going to learn that voters supporting the Democrat are not going to show up in the middle of a pandemic to a political rally?
It didn’t happen for Biden in 2020. Didn’t happen during the California recall. And now it’s not happening for McAulliffe. I have no desire to attend a rally while my toddler is still unvaccinated. Meanwhile, I quietly make my donations around the country and cast my vote locally. Keep thinking that rally size means anything. All it tells me is that those not worried about a pandemic support Youngkin. No shocker there. |
