Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread, Part 4

Earlier today it had the vote at 49-48 with Murkowski, Collins and Manchin undecided. At some point in the last couple of hours, they updated it to move Flake from "yea" back into the undecided column.

With 4 undecided, assuming they are truly undecided and their votes are independent of one another, Kavanaugh still has a 68% chance of getting confirmed.

She was already done. Now she is really done.

A Yes vote might have let her keep her seat. She didn't vote politically.

She might be sunk anyway, but I think a "yes" vote would have sunk her faster than a "no" vote. Being unprincipled on top of being a Democrat is no way to win an election in North Dakota.

You do not sound like you are from North Dakota.

I'm not. Am I wrong?
I think the pp was saying men dakotans are stupid.

Just stop. Name calling is beneath us here. South Dakotans generally live by the creed of 'speak softly and carry a big stick'. Shouting Ivy League liars get their as*es beat down pretty quick.

FBI report is done. No corroboration of Democrat smears of Judge Kavanaugh. Who drove Dr. Fox there? Who drove her home? No one has come forward! Do any of the 5 she placed there corroborate her? No! Some are contradictory. Its obvious: Democrat exploitation of Dr. Ford. SHAME!

Old men should be thrown out of politics. I am ashamed what my country has become.

If HeitKamp is a NO what makes you think Manchin won't be?

He wants to keep being a US Senator. Heitkamp is done regardless of her vote.

One thing Dakotans, North or South, can't abide is people who confuse one state for the other.

If HeitKamp is a NO what makes you think Manchin won't be?

They ARE two different people you know.

Hmm, really?

They both are Democrats from red leaning states, one has a significant lead and one doesn't...now you may be able to understand the rest of my comment.

^^Saw your later correction, and you are forgiven. Particularly as you quoted Teddy Roosevelt, whom North Dakotans claim as one of their own.

I liked how he called out the media today.
He explained that he has had protesters in his office every day for the past 2 weeks. People FOR Kavanaugh’s confirmation and people AGAINST. The people FOR his nomination wanted to talk to the media. The media refused because they were only interested in speaking to people who were against Kavanaugh.

Media bias at its finest. And, on full display to the American people.

By people FOR the confirmation, he was talking about his staff people. HTH

Justice Stevens just came out and said Kavanaugh is unqualified based on his Senate hearing performance.

Time to confirm Justice Kavanaugh.

Agree. Democrats who are threatening violence if they don't get their way is juvenile.

They were never going to be satisfied, so predictable and pathetic.

I wish Democratic leaders would stop thinking that any Republicans are honorable and live for truth or justice. The GOP live to push an agenda few want and line their pockets.

I’m going to take exception to this. Any senator willing to vote with his or her conscience rather than along party lines in this atmosphere deserves respect.

Well you're going to have to declare war on women too, because I along with many other women do not believe that there is enough evidence to assume that Kavanaugh is guilty.
