This is not conspiracy talk. It’s just the reality of what happens in chaos with limited resources. There simply aren’t enough tests, and I would think (hope) health care workers are a higher priority than a dead person.

Yes, I heard that they can’t use the ICD-10 code unless a test has been performed. Even if the person has all the symptoms and the tell-tale chest X-ray, the death wont be classified as COVID unless a test is performed.

I’m in the UK. Currently, there is no testing unless you are so severely ill that you are admitted to the hospital. Of course, exceptions are being made for the rich and famous.

Losing 250,000 is what happens if we do what we are doing RIGHT NOW until the summertime at least. That also assumes we have some way to stop being at home without transmitting it to everyone after that point. With a conservative Case Fatality Rate of 0.5%, if everyone in the USA got infected (330,000,000 people), 1,650,000 would die. That's not a blip. That's over half again as much as die from any cause in a year. And when you consider everyone getting sick over a short period, there really would be people dying in the streets with no one to transport their bodies.

I’m a democrat, but you’ve missed the point. Democrats are providing rich person solutions: just huddle in your McMansion with lots of food for 18 months. Indefinite quarantine spells absolute disaster for most American families. Trumps approval ratings are up (despite his idiocy) because he understands that the economy must reopen fast and articulates that.

Not so sure about that. When red states find out NYC used up all the available equipment leaving nothing for them they are not going to love extra blue NYC and the NE.
