Harris would be an excellent VP. She knows government. Has great policy ideas. Will surround herself with competent people. And can step in as POTUS on day-one.

What are her great policy ideas? Be specific.

I knew for sure you'd bite.

Rabid opposition is so ugly.

What'd she do to you?

NP: your deflecting. It highlights her lack of policy ideas.

Nah, shorty. If you can dig up and post extensive background pieces on Rep. Bass, you can do the same homework for Sen. Harris.

Is she capable? Definitely but she detracts from a win come November.

+1000. And being totally cynical, I think the Texas housewives may see some of themselves in a Gretchen Whitmer and won't like the attacks against her.

She looks like a housewife to you? Not clear what you’re saying here.

I'm not talking about appearance - I'm talking about shared experience. The women who I know who are housewives are late 40's with good educations and could see themselves as a Gretchen Whitmer. I also thinking Whitmer can appeal to working suburban moms.

The vast majority of Swing voters do not have college educations. We are talking about SAHMs and underemployed moms. Besides, Trump has done such a great job of alienating women (not protecting kids from a pandemic) that the voter base that needs to be energized is not the one that Whitmer speaks to.

Warren would be replaced by a GOP appointment, so that seems a non-starter.

FFS, no she wouldn’t.

We’re back to she has none. I am not a fan of Karen Bass but her legislative experience spans more than a decade from what I can tell. Kamala is a Junior Senator who has her entire career watched and waited while others took policy or took the lead on positions (mortgage fraud - NY/Del AG and Newsom out in front, Gay marriage, one payer insurance, legalization of marijuana, BLM).

C’mon man, the Democrats won’t need the seat — they’re taking the United States Senate 52-47. Plus, they will just get it back.

Excuse me, 53-47.

Ok, Harris has zero policy ideas or accomplishments. Why do you think Harris is a top contender for the VP slot?

Most swing voters are moms who relate to other moms, sometimes working moms depending on their circumstances. Whitmer could connect with them on that level, as could a few of the other prospects.

Lobbying efforts from her camp, pulling in political favors and in all honesty her looks.

Because she’s the most famous other than Warren due to her presidential run, is telegenic and charismatic,
and some appreciate her attack dog style. Not one list ranking her first has focused on policy substance. She had trouble figuring that out during her presidential run and is too new to the Senate otherwise. Maybe she could grow into it, I don’t know. Her interviews are usually tough going.

Wasn't President Obama also the junior senator from Illinois?

You realize Obama spent years in the Illinois legislative branch unlike Harris. You also realize he had policy ideas.
