Or was he bitten by a rattler?

ONLY because he was found with so many belongings, I think he got bit by an alligator or snake within few days of running to the preserve. No shelter, needs to sleep. Maybe gator caught him sleeping.

I thought he was found near just a few items.

I think suicide is the most likely cause of death, whether that can be proven or not at this stage is another story.

Reports of a partial skull makes me wonder if it was a self inflicted gun shot wound.

If it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, where's the gun? The water carried it off and buried it in the mud somewhere? Drifter stole it and didn't report the body? Animal carried it off? You can see a bullet hole through the skull or some other bone presuming you have the bone, and a bullet wouldn't decompose, but I don't know.

Maybe if there's any tissue sample left they can try a toxicology report. We may never know. A lot of evidence was probably eroded or decomposed or devoured by an alligator.

Frankly, I really hope he was killed by a gator. If Gabby's family can't get justice from him being convicted for her murder and sent to prison, being attacked and killed and mostly eaten by a gator is the next best outcome.

RIP Gabby

Burn in eternal damnation Brian

Police said he can't comment if there was a weapon or not yet.

He sounds like a coward so my guess is overdose.

+1 I still found it bizarre the parents found one of his belongings though.

Animals could easily be the reason for partial skull.

Scattered bones, yes. Not sure about partial skull.

I wonder how did the parents not see his remains then when they or the dad walked over and pulled that bag out from where it was found? Or I could be in the crazy camp of the parents follow the “I brought you into this world and I”ll take you out” types.

1) If my child seems off, I am calling the authorities right away and any use of STAN, I'm calling authorities. I'm not waiting 2 weeks for report missing.

2) I am not going to allow anger to fill my life if my child is murdered. I'm going to try to allow forgiveness and empathy to fill my life instead. I'm definitely not going to blame the parents of the murderer for their child's sins.

3) if my child commits a crime or I'm suspicious of them committing murder, etc, I am not going to allow them back to my home. They can go to the police and surrender or run away but do not get me involved. I will not be a part of it and allow it to ruin my life.

4) the justice system sucks -- silence should not be a right but instead anything you say should not be used against you so you don't need to be silent. That way, honest people who make mistakes are rewarded. Like if Brian knew that he'd get 5 years for accidental murder if he went to the police on August 27 but life if he stayed silent, this wouldn't have happened.

I guess you don't have young adults in your life. They literally don't contact you and you have no control.
5) we need to teach DV in public schools like we teach sex ed, drug use, etc -- children should recognize it and stay away from it, and perpetrators should get help asap to stop the cycle.

It's been a traumatic two months for many of us as we've relived our own abuses so I'm glad it has come to an end and I hope something good will come out of it.

This is what I wonder about. Petito is an Italian name, right? Maybe he made even the Mob angry and they dispatched a team to track him down and off him. Then they left his remains for the critters. Or do I read too many books?

He didn't strike me as someone who would commit suicide. Then again, what do I know.

Due to the condition of his remains, it may be too difficult to figure out Brian Laundrie’s manner of death.

We may never know whether or not he killed himself or was attacked by an alligator.
