Exactly! As far as the Covid response at least, Northam was more pragmatic than NoVA. So much hubris in the Dem party. We’ll see similar in the GOP here. I swear the Dems have become the party of ignoring people. I thought TMac would win by a thin margin. Ds keep thinking they have a mandate from the people to do x, y, z on their list of campaign promises when they get elected but that hasn’t really been the case, The people want something more balanced than what either party is offering. If the Ds would listen to something other than what’s inside their own heads, they’d realize this. |

+1. I live in a very liberal, progressive suburb. I've seen firsthand how the local policies have made things worse, so I voted R. 🤷🏻♀️ |
The exit was always going to look like this. The Taliban prisoners had been released before the inauguration and they were steadily advancing against a corrupt and incompetent government. We could have surged back in and tried to prop them up, but no one would have supported that so we left. There was no way that there would have ever been enough seats on the flights or that whatever airport we chose to exit from wasn't going to be mobbed by desperate people. It's still not an accomplishment that Biden can run on. Just imagine that this withdawrl was dragged out long enough to get out everyone who wanted out- do you think Americans would welcome a million Afghan refugees? a half million? |
You think the white and Asian kids need to be blind-folded and knee-capped for a century or two. No thanks. |
DP. But why would some random person want to "listen" to the polls? What would that even mean? I vote for the people who will, in my opinion, do the best job as an elected official. Polls don't change that and I'm not changing who I vote for based on what other people want (nor do I expect them to change who they vote for based on what I believe). Sometimes my candidate wins, sometimes they lose, but I always feel good about my choices. |
“I don’t think parents should be telling the schools what they should teach.” - Terry McAuliffe 2021. I learned in school that the US has a government for, of, and by the people. Terry, maybe you need to find a foreign country with a type of government more in line with your views. |
Fairfax:
Biden 70%, Trump 28% McAuliffe 64%, Youngkin 34% Arlington: Biden 81%, Trump 17% McAuliffe 76%, Youngkin 22% Loudoun: Biden 61%, Trump 36% McAuliffe 54%, Youngkin 44% Prince William: Biden 62%, Trump 35% McAuliffe 58%, Youngkin 41% Youngkin was able to pick off a few suburban voters who were scared of the Democrats on education. |
It's like suddenly people forgot that ACPS had zero students in person and then had to have their hand forced by the governor. I think we had 6 severely disabled students in person at one point before even they got sent back to virtual. |
And it’s misplaced. The issue was National response to a pandemic, and the virus itself. But let’s blame the schools. |
LOL. Just look at Tholen and Frisch! They are perfect examples of why even liberals dislike the (Dem) school board. LoL. One party isn’t morally superior than the other. |
I wonder how the 2020 numbers compared to 2016 numbers. Youngkin definitely picked off the suburbanites on education, but I think many of the 2021 voters for Biden were Rs who would have otherwise voted for R if not for the Trump referendum. |
It's easy to blame the schools when friends and relatives in other states (including deep blue ones) have kids in school |
It’s a juvenile take. |
So? All politics is local. Between the VA school lock-downs and the CRT agenda, this was a no-brainer win for the Rs. Terry is so out of touch with reality that he didn't even see it coming. |
