| I'm not anti sports or anti kid, I'm pretty tolerant of the basketball playing generally in the afternoons and evenings, no problem. But 6:30am in the morning? You have got to be kidding me! I'm at my wits end. |
| Who's asleep at 6:30? |
That is extreme. Seven days a week? |
| Put a note on the basketball hoop's pole saying that neighbors are still sleeping and you would greatly appreciate if they could find something quieter to do until at least 7:30 on week-day mornings. |
| Let me guess, gentrifying neighborhood? |
| OP here. Three or four times a week. And no, not gentrifying - N. Arlington. My kids sleep usually sleep till 7:30am I'd like it to stay that way! |
| All right old man magrudger |
|
I agree. The Pam Pam Pam of the basketball can be pretty loud.
Talk to their parents maybe? |
| Uh....we regularly sleep til 7:30 here (not OP). Mom of a 2 and 4 yo and to working parents. I'd just ask that they cut it out til 7:30 or so. And be nice about it. |
WTF? You are really reaching here. |
| Geez, I have a hard enough time waking my son up at 8 am to go to daycare. He sleeps until at least 9 am on the weekends. If he ever woke up that early, my head would probably explode. |
OP again. This is it, I'm in head exploding territory. I'm going to talk to the parents about it, but I'm not sure how civil I can be... |
Ahh, close your windows? Kids adapt, and so can you. I grew up in Warsaw. I learned to sleep through construction, neighbors yelling, my parents banging pans in the kitchen at 6 am making breakfast. I hope you can be civil. I understand your frustration. But please here your neighbors out, and don't go in with the attitude you have now. |
That would be "hear," lest you discount my advice because English isn't my first language. Please approach this situation gently. My brother hit golf balls off of our neighbors house once we got to the states. He thought he was hitting an abandoned brick building. Not somebody's house. |
You know this is your kids in a few years.... |
